Dare I mention olongapo watch bracelets?
Yea, I've seen different versions, but they don't do anything for me. But I sure don't obsess about what people put their watches on really.

Actually, I'm just glad to see people who actually wear a watch regardless of what it is.

I've seen pics of the Olongapo bracelets, and if I'd been in the service and a hardcore lifer, I'd likely consider one. On ME? Silly. I'd have to sand my Zippo's corners down to brass...That said, I appreciate the folk-art aspects of them as well, some of them are terrific work.

Right now, I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Breitlings - the were supposed to have shipped out Thursday, fresh from the Spa. It will be nice to have them back in the rotation.

My B-1 was purchased used - right after it was returned from service. The guy that I purchased it from sent it to a friend of his in Mesa who met me at a local bank. I was able to examine the watch and then we talked inside and I gave him cash.

It was like purchasing a brand new watch.

Thanks. I've had a couple Nighthawks before, but I'm really liking this one.

OK, besides that, I've tried 'em in the past. What is the point of a watchband that has to go in the laundry every week? Mine always would reek after a week or two at most.

Personally, I have no use for anything other than a bracelet, at least right now.

Let the flaming begin!
But I only spent $150 for that one. If I paid $5K for a watch, I'd damned well not put it on nylon either. My work beaters are on bracelets as well.

At least a NATO band will save your watch should a spring-bar break. Can't say the same for a bracelet.

leather nato

this place has nice leather nato straps for not too much scratch.

http://internationalwatchman.com/mil...ellzuluss.html

i just got one for a friend, and i was impressed. dresses up the watch (compared to rubber or nylon) and you get the security of a one piece strap.

also, the guy i spoke to when i placed the order (the owner?) was very patient and helpful. had the strap in two days. he said it was waterproof and made in europe i think. i specifically asked if it was chinese.

The Citizen is not a 5K watch. But I have seen Nato straps on Rolly Subs and B&R's. They look great and are so easy to swap out for leather or a bracelet if wanted.

I have the same domestic Nighthawk , love it . I have a SNPR PVD killer strap coming in sometime , I'll post up a pic . The Citizen is a great watch and company to boot .

I wouldn't go that far. I had an Eco drive that failed. It was 1 month or so past its 5 year warranty. They wouldn't honor the warranty.

A great company would have.

Well, I finally got my Hamilton Pilot in the mail today.

I like the way the watch looks, especially with the bracelet. However, I just can't get over the quartz thing, so I think this one is going to be a catch and release.

I've also decided to liquidate my Hammy Khaki Field Auto. I've found since owning this one that I can't live with a watch that doesn't tell me what day it is. I'm constantly looking at my wrist to see what day it is, only to remember that this watch only has the date display. Selling both Hamiltons will give me the capital to pounce if what I really want (a Hamilton Khaki Field Chrono Auto) comes up for sale.

I will be taking a bike trip for the next week, so I don't think it is fair to put anything up in the flea market until I get back. Watch next week if you are interested.

Same thing happened to me with a Eco drive. Just after the warranty expired so did the watch.

Bummer. My Casio Pathfinder, which I bought when they came out at like 250, bounced out the first time the batteries needed to be replaced which was also after the warranty ran out. I seem to remember Casio wanted like 150 to replace the 4 or 5 batteries it had in it. By that time, Costco had them on sale for $139.

Man, four years with beating the snot out of my Eco, still going.

The crystal has been scratched, band replaced, but the watch hasn't missed a beat. I am not sure if it is slow or fast, it keeps time with the cell and computer, and that is as close as I need...

Fingers crossed it lasts for another four years!
