I knew I shouldn't take my Seiko Bullhead on the bicycle. But I did.

35 chrono-stopped minutes on the bumpy race bike.

Now it's dead.

I ALMOST picked up a Zenith Pilot Big Date Special over the weekend. Saw it at a ridiculously low clearance price at a jeweler, new, and after contemplation and sleep, decided yesterday I'd go back and buy it.

Not sure if it means I'm unlucky or lucky, but by the time I got there, it had been sold.

Zenith's 36,000bph El Primero movement is just a thing of breathtaking beauty.

Strip joint...

But if you want a new crystal for your watch...Google is your friend. There's a phone number at the bottom of the page. Any watchmaker should be able to install it but it might be easier just to ship it back to them.

I waited and waited and waited and waited patiently, even when the on sale date changed three times, but I finally got myself a Maratac Pilot.

Not my picture.

Need to get myself a similar strap.

.
Nice watch, I like that style, very similar to my Fortis. A good strap makes a watch. I also have a dirt cheap knock-off, with a really good strap, it lofts the appearance significantly.

my wife picked me up one of these and gave it to me as surprise yesterday - for no real reason

I had recently bought my brother an omega seamaster for plating my clavicle (another story) and at the time I had mentioned that if I was going to get a nice watch it would be a grand seiko spring drive. Apparently she remembered and scored one on her own. Its a beautiful watch, and I like the understated fact that "its just a seiko"

not my picture, but this watch - sorry about the huge photo

Any suggestions as to where to get a strap like that? My watch strap is falling apart and I'm looking for something with a bit more life to it.

For custom watch straps, I recommend Stone Creek Straps. Jeanna does very nice work.

Here is my Lum-Tec M27 on one of her straps. It is Black Bison with red Karung liner:
