Big tickky with big minutes. shrug.

Thanks for the reply. Just for the purpose of discussion, In my 17 years of Naval Aviation, (CH-53 A/D/E, C-12) I would not have found this application useful or necessary.shrug. I did however use the (CASIO watch; poor mans diver) bezel ring to indicate that same purpose ie orient the bezel to H-hour, over the required 'minute'. What I would see useful, is a 'zulu' GMT function added to that same watch. I accomplished that function using an analog Casio with a secondary digital set to GMT; plus the use of the stop watch for airspeed adjustments for TOT. Most of those functions are overcome by events with the advent of nearly every aircraft having redundent GPS.

Platts is a good guy, I picked this up from him in 98, it's a chunk. 18mm thick, about 42 or so across and weighs 5 oz. It was supposed to be going to the Japanese market.

Nice watch! I believe Eddie post dates the warranty card by a week to allow for travel time.

The Core is here, and I like it.
![]() Not bad for $105 with lugs shipped. Was advertised as 'unworn' and that is true, I can't find a wear mark on it ANYWHERE. Its perfect, could have been advertised LNIB. Oh, and guess where the storm came through my neck of the woods... I'm very much enjoying this watch. I currently have it set on Auto so it toggles between Baro & Alti based on what it thinks you are doing. I like the baro setting the most, gives me more data. But when I get in the elevator at work, about 2/3 way down it gives a good beeping saying its changing profiles. Neat to have a watch that can understand the difference between what you are up to and provide information appropriately.

Not sure what your point is....but, no not always. The US and the UK go to come out of (IIRC) summer time at different times so there are a couple weeks a year when the time difference is not 5 hours.

It is still a nice watch, in any time zone, no?

The original post was dated 8 Feb; the receipt is dated 13 Feb. The 5-hour reference was tounge in cheek; the illusion is the post dated receipt, not GMT vs. EST.

I've been in hot tubs, hot showers, soaked in tubs with very hot water for back aches, dove with it in the warm waters of the Caribbean and Red Sea, and never had a problem with the crystal, or water intrusion.

Hey guys... I'm looking for a new watch. I saw a Fossil one with a visible movement that moved me. I like all things mechanical so that really got my gears going so to speak. Anyway I was wondering what other brands has nice sleek 'see through' watches for lets say around the $250 mark. The one thing I didn't like about the Fossil is that all the gears and skeleton were the same color so it was kind of a jumbled mechanical mess without too much to catch the eye... brass gears with steel other parts and black hands would be best in my head I think.
