Just picked up this beauty for a song. I need to get a less ostentatious strap, though.

I follow this thread and have just seen the discussion about the Rolex Vs the Seiko. That Seiko does look very similar and if I couldn't have a rolex I would get a Seiko.
For me, rolex isn't about the name, its about the tradition, the engineering and the reputation. Sure Seiko has that too and having seen that, mmm, that could be a possibility, but, for if and when the time comes, I am wanting a Rolex.

I received my new Pebble watch from Kickstarter a few weeks ago:

I owned it for 15 minutes before giving it away. Bah.

That doesn't do anything for me either.

Exactly right. Rolex is the innovator, not the imitator.

Agreed 100%... that Rolex Spring Drive is the bomb. Now that is some crack engineering innovation. Love it!

It's the hot thing because it's bluetooth to your iPhone or Android device to display your texts as they come in, caller I.D., location, whatever.

In some parts of this country, if you walk into the room wearing a pebble, and your google glasses, you're going to get your ass kicked.
