There are things in life I love - the perfect machines like motorcycles and watches are near the top. The perfect kayak - adventure travels... it's all good.
Watches, guns, bikes. All great examples of meticulous engineering and craftsmanship. I have several nice watches, most automatics from Omega, Rolex, Seiko, etc. and have never had a functional problem with a one of them...except the Ball. Mine is like yours and went back for service after about three months. Came back and still doesn't work. Stops at 8:10 every time it gets there. I know it is fixable, but still, it is the only one that doesn't work. Nowadays, it's hard to find a competent watch maker where I am.

OK, Recht, maybe you can be the ADV watch maker.

Was it a new Ball or an old one? - because I was interested in a Ball, but I kept hearing stories about them breaking down, etc.




ps - My Tutima D300 runs great, gone through some hard shocks too. Purchased for around $1,250, seems like a good company.

Perry - spend a little time here. You'll see very few stories of failure and more stories about Ball and the support via Ball. Jeff Hess is the president of Ball USA and participates in the forum. I've even had emails from him regarding some items I've written about in that forum.


hgulledge - join that forum and then contact Jeff via PM or email. I'll bet he'll help you. If you're the original owner, you do have a two-year warranty and if you registered it on-line, you have a three-year one.

That looks to be the range. Keep in mind that the included spares are for the first 100 buyers. They cost an extra $200 for the second phase and aren't included at all for the third. The deposit is $350 with the rest due later.

Nice incentive 'eh??!!
