I hardly think you can compare a watch to a neck tie. I have never warn a clock on my arm but I have worn a watch.
I love watches, but I haven't worn one in several years.

Why?

There is a clock on my phone, on my computer, in my car, on the television, on the bank sign across the street from my office...

Considering that I have the equivalent of a "pocket watch" with my cellphone in my pocket, a wristwatch is truly a fashion statement in today's world.

That being said, at my first opportunity, I'm going to acquire either a Glycine Airman Vintage V or Special II just because they're so damned cool...

Hhmmm.... here's a vintage one if you're interested. He's a little heavy on the price at this point though.

Yeah, thanks! I've been watching the vintage ones, too.

Falcon had a nice '62/'63 Special for $1100 that they'd gone through. It looks like a really clean Airman I will set me back nearly what a late-model one will. Last Vintage V I saw went for $800. There is another one I've found for $1100. A new Airman 18 can be had for $1300-$1500...

I like the Vintage V and Special II because they are "twelve at the top". Having a really nice vintage Airman I would be pretty cool though... I'm not quite ready to drop $800+ right now... Hopefully soon, though...

47mm. If you want one you better get it quick. I think there were only 15 made.

nah, I'm all set with watches for the next few years, and a 47mm is way too big for my taste, I'm a 40mm man.

I've always loved IWC's Big Pilot, but that Special Edition.... Ugh. Don't like the yellow. I'd rather have the old standard.

The Pilot's crown has always bugged me, though. I know it's steeped in tradition, going back to the 1930's and all, but sheesh. It's already a huge wristwatch with a pocket watch caliber. Why hang that huge crown off the side of the thing?

And I LOVE IWC's! I'm wearing my IWC Automatic Aquatimer Ti at the moment...

I was so close to purchasing a stainless steel Aquatimer. I bought a Sea-Dweller instead but one day I'll get something from IWC.

I was thisclose to pulling the trigger on an "old stock" Ti Aquatimer on TZ a couple of months ago. First watch I've really dug that Linzi also liked. Pissed her off when I didn't get it.

That's is a nice watch! Simple, but elegant. I like the leather band and the automatic movement. Perfect. Wow, check out the price of the ceramic model.
