690 starting function

When I press the starter button, the motor does not turn, but I can hear the relay buzzing under the seat, but starter motor does not turn the engine. After a few pushes on the button the only does the motor turn, why is this?

You might want to check the connections on the starter relay.
They have been known to come loose and corrode if a higher mileage machine.

Some times the starter button it's self get dirty and needs a clean , a bit of contact cleaner should do the trick

Come to think of it , it cannot be the starter button not making contact as I can here the relays buzzing or arcing!

You can still get a bad contact, a bad ground , or corroded battery terminals
