I live here in Japan and I'm not quite sure what the draw is. Perhaps just that fact that you can't get one in the states makes you want it more?

Actually, the KLR 2fiddy started it for me.

These smaller displacement bikes have too high a grin factor to ignore.

Does anybody have info or actual experience with the DOHC 250 AX 1 as a minimalist adventure bike? There's one for sale and I'm considering it.

What year XT?
Some people on the TW forum wish we had a TW/XT350 hybrid.
We're all jealous.

I got the last year they were made a 2000... I really liked the TW, but it just couldnt keep up with my riding buddies on the highways. The xt350 is perfect, small, light, nimble, can do 75mph (barely

I have owned it for about a year and I love it!

Only bad thing about it is the shim adjusted valves and the week front forks

But I just put some new progressive springs in the forks so hopefully that solves the suspension problem

You can be a minimalist on a 350 just start your own club 200cc up to 350cc only, and it must be a dual sport, no loud pipes allowed. I have a TW200 and a DR350sex.
We have our own club here in the bay area and those are the requirements.
XT 350's are nice..

Check out this thread. It is for AX-1, and NX-1. Same bike just different head lights. NX was sold here, AX sold in Japan.
