Laugh Long Ago, Far Away

I have begun 'transcribing' my old photos to digital. I actually found that taking a photo with hi-res camera in macro mode gives markedly better results than a hi-res scanner (at least to my eye).

This is somewhere along the Alaska hwy on route to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, back in the summer of 1976. I can't remember exactly where. A buddy of mine and I left from the dorms at USF on BMWs. I am going to post a trip report in retrospect after I get the rest of the pictures done.

And just a couple of miles down that road, you can take this little dirt road and ride right through there!

The lonliest roads always seem to be the most majestic....

That looks like Monument Valley and Valley of the Gods. I'm going in September and suggest you do, too.

We tried in mid May and hit snow and rain! Had to turn around and go back to Death Valley the only place in the west that week that had no rain or snow.

Thanks for the info.

Maybe no the loneliest or the longest but for a New Englander it was pretty long and lonely. Somewhere on the UP in MI.
