Follow that itty bitty road you can see out that cabin window, past my helmet, for about 40 miles and you will hit pavement.

A view from outside the cabin, BTW coming from the other direction is even more lonely

This is North of the Grand Canyon somewhere.. the road winds down the ridge I'm on, then you can see it goes for miles down below in front of those beautiful red cliffs.

And here is one from a few weeks ago out at Big Bend National Park.

You live there? Or it is a place you just found on a ride... either way, it is GREAT!

It is Death Valley

There are a series of cabins in the National Park and the Park Service lets the off road crowd keep the cabins up and stay in them as they please, much like the ski hut concept that operates in parts of the country.

The cabin is the Geologist’s cabin, at the Base of Mengal Pass. The other side of Mengal Pass are more cabins and Barker Ranch, Charlie Manson's place.

Across the Hay Plain, Australia, on my 1977 Harley Ironhead Sportster.

Near Burra, Sth Australia.

And near Broken Hill, on the way home to Queensland.

Not really a highway, more of a track really. But pretty damn lonely out there.

Back o' Bourke, literally.

Near Charters Towers, Qld

Highway 50 west of Austin

Somewhere in the middle of New Mexico. I like this for the endless fence line.

The Extraterrestrial Highway, Nevada.

SSR34, Nevada between Vya and Hwy 140.

Looking south from SSR34 Nevada. Notice the two steam stacks from some hot springs. Picture taken in early November.

Interesting art work along side of Hwy 299 just north of Adin CA

Shovel Spring Canyon Rd, Nevada, north of Gerlach

I love the wide open Nevada desert.

Big Bend:
That first shot is coming down into northern arizona from the Kanab National Forest. Freaking awesome views up there coming down into the open desert. I had the pleasure of riding through there right at sunset and then camped at Lee's Ferry in Marble Canyon. Amazing color out there especially at sunset.

Me right before sunset:
