Main jet, needle jet and idle jet were what I replaced. Why I called it a pick up is beyond me.

http://home.insightbb.com/~cdpumphr/the_chronicles_.htm Scroll way down. It gives the correct name and number of the parts. Obviously written by someone who has slept. #s 1,3 and 5.

Pissed myass

got the enrichiner kit, $50 later plus $53 overnight....only on of the jets has a different number...WTF!
I told the guy at bing the exact numbers on the jets...I feel violated...guess I'll give it a try anyway...

Thumb Eu-frickin'-reeka!!!

Did the carbs, got'em back on last night, synched it all up..idling nicely...I waited until late this morning to test ride like a kid waiting for santa kraut.
Got suited up (positive programming), and took off...same shit, no power when you twist the wrist at 4K and above, not rideable.
Shite! Shite!

Pulled in the garage all perplexed...don't give up ...

Then I remember what one of you instigators asking me how the bike ran with the pipe uncorked....out with the disks time to get radical!
Went out again and well shit-howdy boys! HOT damn I got me a scalded dog!
The bike flat shat and gat!
So, this being at least a part of the problem all along, (the restricted exhaust) cured everything!

So, I decided not to run it sounding like the typical Acton Harley, and got creative.
For now I placed washers between the disks (after adding the 2 disks I'd already removed, and also some hex nuts as spacers. I'll order some more discs later.
It's pretty hefty sounding but runs just like perfect...and the Rennsport cam comes on at 5K like a no airhead I've ever ridden...I am very pleased as you might tell...
Oh yeah!

Sweet potato pie! Ahhh, you are an inspiration. Perhaps one day this week I will have a working bike again, but I will certainly not have anywhere as nice to ride to as you do. Rock on, RDog!

Parts 1,3 and 5 are what you need to replace. Probably.

Read this first. http://home.insightbb.com/~cdpumphr/...chronicles.htm You're warned.
Does anyone know what the stock jet sizes are fr 1,3, and 5?
I'm curious as my enrichening kit had the same jets as where already in my bike except the idling jet (i think that's the one)...if so I've got duplicate jets.

Idle was 2.66, main was 135. Can't remember the other number. Bing will know.

I went to 2.68 and 145. Had a good ride yesterday.

As I thought, I already HAD the rejet kit in the bike except for the idle jet which was stock I assume...

Listening datchew? I have some jets for you...discounted!

huh? what was that? oh. yeah. So lemme get this straight... the problem wasn't really the carbs at all but it was your exhaust???

I just wanna make sure this #1 kit you have will fit my carbs. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. We both have the same carbs from what I can tell, but the thing that concerns me is that my float bowls look like this picture I stole off gunsmoke.com's website.

Mine are like the ones on the left.

Scott mentions them here:
http://www.gunsmoke.com/motorcycling...ild/index.html

I'm guessing it's the alcohol proof floats that he's talking about.
Other than that, the carbs shouldn't be any different right?

maybe...

my guess is yes they are the same...input here.
yes those are the alky-proof floats on the left.

some rough running/starting was probably the carbs
the flat and choking at 4K RPM was the SuperTrapp...
