Some of these might seem weak sauce comparatively, but now that we're in Germany, I'll hopefully have some more to add...

Lippencott Death Valley

Tioga Pass

Mengel Pass

Approaching Sonora Pass

Greenhorn Pass (yes it is snowing)

AWESOME THREAD!!!

My 'to do' list has grown 5 pages by reading it, I'm getting stressssssssssssssed...

There are such dramatic pictures in this thread that I was wondering whether to post some of mine or not... but finally decided to do so!

They are neither extreme off-road shots, nor impressive 5000m passes, but I like them!

Close to Krafla, Iceland:

Gorges du Dades, Morocco:

Tiz-n-Test, Morocco:

Tiz-n-Tichka, Morocco:

Col du Bramont, Alsace, France:

Not a mountain pass, but an emergency roadstrip between Glendambo and Coober Pedy, Australia. First one I had ever seen!

Passo del San Bernardino, Switzerland:

Dahar Mountains, Tunisia:

Sorry mates, this is not the highest road as it is not a road (no tarmac), the highest one is "La Bonnette" as shown here

Great thread, downloaded a bunch of pics for future trips. Here a few of mine. Start off with a pass close to my home taken from the 1hr walk to the Gaustadtoppen mountain:

Gaularfjell (Gaular mountain) in west Norway last month:

Road from Sirdal to Lysebotn, Norway. Topped off with the hairpins down to Lysebotn:

Gravel pass in South-Africa (can't remember name):

Col de la Machine, France (if you look closely, you can see one of my buddies doing a burn out at the tunnel entrance at the right ) :

Enduro riding in Wales:

Well, you're almost right. Bonnette is the highest tarmac PASS (though they've cheated a bit since doing an extra loop, Restefond is just 2min down the road passing at lower altitude), Ötztaler Gletcherstrasse is the highest tarmac road...but it's not a pass.
