the highest "almost open road" i ridden is the one witch go to the mulhacen in spain (sierra nevada)

Most folks think that the highest paved road in Europe is located in the Alps. In not it's in Spain, not in the Pyrenees either. It's in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the southern Spanish province of Andalucia: Pico Veleta (3,398 m; 11,150 ft).
