Yeah, you have some bad looking crank there.
Well, that's nothing a good media blasting and rebuild won't cure. Hopefully the rust hasn't pitted it too badly.

Seems the machine shop guy doesn't really want to tackle that. Told me to look for a replacement.

Yep, looks like I'll be able to get one good engine out of two. Unfortunately, the cylinders were missing off the new engine, so I have to salvage mine, too bad. The machine shop guy is on vacation, so I will gather the pistons to go to him. He recommends 2nd over, but could only find 1st over. He told me that's better than nothing, so he'll machine the bores when I get him the pistons.

Stinky old fuel is nasty. Stripped the tank of it's adornments. The paint underneath should give the painter a good example of the factory color as will the original stripe.

Took the new engine apart and it looks pretty clean.
![]() Crank looks way better than my old one. Upper case is really clean.

I stripped the frame of it's bolts getting it ready for the powder coaters. I have a question for the inmates. Where can I get the vinyl tubing that goes around the electrical wiring? Mine is brittle to where slight bending will crack it.

Gathering of parts for the powder coaters.
![]() Got a new rear tire, tread looks similar, but now correctly sized. ![]() ![]() ![]() Took me awhile to get that rock hard tire off the rim and the tube kept getting caught. Hated to ruin the tube since it still held air and looked in good shape. It was one rim size too small. It was meant for a 17" rim! No wonder it kept getting jammed into the bead on removal.

May you be blessed somewhere down the road, with perhaps a less weathered example...
