That's part of it. Road rash and stitches are easier with shaved legs. Spandex doesn't offer much protection.

Lance does it!

You suckers don't know what a good shave you're missing. The forumla for shaving bliss:

Gillette Fusion Power razor.

Gillette shaving gel.

Fog free mirror.

Shave in the shower.

That's my recipe.

Except I skip the shaving gel. I just rub the bar of soap over my face. Makes a nice thick lather.

After I started shaving in the shower, I wondered why it took me so long.

Somewhere down the line I lost my Dad's shaving mug.

But the straights belonged to my Granddaddy.

And I use the Fusion. Less damage while I'm shaving half-asleep.
Up until a month ago I used the one second from the right. A month ago I was contemplating shaving off my winter growth and moving into the summer shave-every-day season. I was out shopping and I looked at how much blades for these things cost. Then I looked over at the electric razors and I figured I would break even if the electric lasted only a couple years. Plus, shaving would be much more pleasant.

So I bought one of these:

A hundred bucks and it gives me the best shave I have ever had (without a brand new blade in my razor). Now I shave every day, whereas before, my wife was lucky if I shaved twice a week. I hated it that much. Very satisfied and if properly cared for this thing will last for years.

I don't need a lube strip or anything that runs on batteries.

I don't need "turbo" anyfuckingthing that comes close to my face.

I need some that will fit the handle I've already got. You change your shit so frequently, I can't keep up with it. I've got 19 brand new blades for two handles that I don't even own anymore. You probably don't even fuckin' make them anymore.

And the one I have, the one I use now, and no spare blades. Speaking of which, having to pay 12 dollars (or more) for a 5-pack of blades is criminal.

The shit is made on automated machines in Brazil, because you can't make them any cheaper for more profit.

So you keep changing the handle / blade interface so I'm stuck with buying into a whole "new-n-improved" model every couple of years.

You rat dick bastards.
I couldn't agree more. The fuckers charge $16 for 5 blades here. I'm thinking of growing a face bush in protest.

Seems the fusion's replacement is going to be more expensive:

From WSJ.com:
That confidence is clear at market leader Gillette, which will charge about $17 for a four-pack of cartridges for its manual ProGlide line and a dollar more for the battery-powered version, a 15% premium to regular Fusion blades, which already run about twice the average price in the category.
