Yeah, I still have a couple of Mach 3's from before I converted over to a DE for everyday use. I use them when I travel so as not to deal with the hassle, as well as for shaving the back of my neck blindly so I don't slice myself open.

The only regular store I know that sells DE blades is Walgreens, but they aren't very good.

Some cigar shops, oddly enough, sell DE razors and blades.

A little off topic but I'm not sure there's a right place for this...

I've been shaving my head everyday for the last few years and I like it that way. What I don't like is that somewhere around 8-10 hours later the stubble itch thing starts and if you don't have something you're doing right now your hand will find it's way to your head and start scratching which makes it itch worse.

It bugs the living crap out of me. What's the trick to avoiding the itch aside from shaving my skull twice a day?

I shave my noggin daily with a Braun electric, and once a week with a blade. After every shower, put on a good coat of lotion. I use a Lubriderm with SPF 15. No itching here.

One more thing. Shampoo your bald head and don't just use soap.

I was wondering about this too, I guess it answers my question...

I ended up mailing myself some blades. Also, be aware if you use a tub of shaving cream. They might confiscate if it it's more then the allowable amount, 3.5oz. I brought an empty tub and scooped a little cream into it.

I did find that CVS's typically have blades in store though the smallest pack is $5 and you'll be wasting a lot of blades unless you're there for a while.

I'm going on another trip in a few weeks so I'll have to mail myself some blades to the hotel.

With that said, I broke down my DE and they never opened my back to check for blades.

Checked shouldn't be a problem. I travel light and don't check my bags though.

I shave my head twice a week with a Wahl clipper - lowest setting, no guard. I tried shaving it with a blade and lasted about a month. The itch was terrible.

I switched to a Schick Quatro years ago. Before that, ingrown hairs were a constant pain.

I went to the store last week and see only the Schick 5-blade monstrosity. I bought it and hate it. The head is too damn big! I also have no feel with it for doing my 'burns. And it's too big for under my nose.

I'm thinking of going to disposable blades instead.

Switch to a DE and thanks us later.

Today was my first shave with a DE and it is far better than any cartridge I've used. I can't remember a time that I shaved and my skin felt this good afterward. Not to tough either. I'm pretty damn smooth and not bleeding so it's a win in my book. I just need to find the right blade.

Sorry, my jargon is off: I meant DE above.

If you're ever in a store, seriously check out the 5-bladed monstrosity. What were they thinking. Better yet, what was I thinking buying it?
