Don't forget your checkbook, although cash is better.

I think in terms of complexity, a CBX is like a CB750 with two extra cylinders. I have two of these and they are not that complicated to get and keep running. The big question is do you want to "restore" it. Then you are talking about availability of the original parts and their cost.
![]() ![]() Honda is still making the pipes for the 750's....maybe they will start making them for the CBX's again. Good luck! These old Honda's are going up rapidly in value. Sounds like a good investment/ride to me. ![]() Jim |

"Field of Dreams" aye, DD?
Well, I went to see the bike, and it's NOT in very good shape. I'd need 3-$4,000 to get it to where "I" would want it. Don't have the time, smarts, $$$$, smarts, patients, $$$$, etc............ I guess whenever I get one of those, it will be paying after someone else did the work! Now, let's see if I can post a pic, after getting it up on Smug Mug! Pics, coming....... Boojum!

Hey, for it's condition, I'd say it is fairly priced. Steer whoever back on page one to it.

My brother got an '81 five years ago. Seller took it to the dealer and spent a $1000 having the carbs gone thru before he shipped it. You don't find people like that very often. Bro paid $3500 for it, nice shape.
For some reason CBX's were the preferred bike for the burn a tire to the cord competion at Laguna Seca in the early 80's. Saturday night was like "Apocalypse Now", at the Bunny show, only without the boat. |
