We went through Warburton on the 29th.
Came onto the Warburton Hwy at the old Sanitarium Factory, went east then turned up the Donna Buang Road. The time would have been around 11.30 am.

G'day Burnie,
  • Flick the Metz front for an MT21 (Great on/off road)
  • The Ventura rack will bend down if loaded in off road conditions (mine did)
  • You will need to rejet your carb after fitting the Staintune. You have 2 options; Dynojet kit or just get the parts you need from the Mikuni parts importer in Townsville (via post)
The rest of your items listed are the usual popular choices. Be warned about Dual Star, they will take your cash then advise a 6mth to 1yr delay to deliver things like their centre stand (heaps of horror stories on Thumper Talk).

Regards
Stack

From some US site? Maybe :)

Standard, probably measured at the crank to sound better

Yep, IMS 18.5 lt or 4.9 US Gallon - import to Oz from Just Gas Tanks in US for $320AU. Got down low today and only had about a litre left and it took 18.67 litres to fill - go figure!

Burnie,

i don't know how tall you are but I have tall bars and 25mm risers and I could still do with a little more.

Open the airbox of course

I've stick with the original seat with a sheepskin but it's a bitch to slide around on when you need to, so I'm going to get a seat guy to bring the foam straight up where I sit while still leaving the front original. The foam will be completely replaced of course with really good stuff.

1.72 m, 80 kg

Are aluminimum bars much stronger than standard ?
Is it worth going to protapers ?

What bend are most people using (and how tall are you) ?

180cm

I have Jimmy Buttons Renthal bars which are pretty tall and strong, the steel bars are notorious for bending. I have taken a few dives and the aluminium bars are straight as.

These bars have a cross bar which I find handy to put the GPS on but the protapers do produce a cleaner look

Can someone advise, roughly, what distance I should get out of a standard tank on a standard 07 bike.
eg
total Kms
Kms to Reserve tank
kms out of reserve tank

What range of Kms per litre is acceptable?

cheers

When my '05 jobbie was new and unmodified, I was consistently getting ~180kms to reserve. That was commuting and easy trails - not thrashing it.

Exactly the same here; 180 to reserve and then 50 Km. more to empty.
