Am planning a ride to Ladakh in June 2007, right when the passes open. Am starting this thread, to see if other ADVers are doing it too, so I can meet some really cool fellas along the way

If we go again, we will NOT be pedalling! Currently living in Argentina, so will spent the next couple of years riding S.A. That being said, my wife is talking to a company in India that will provide Enfields for moto tours......

Lemme know. My mech back in Delhi does the same thing - he also provides service backups. The going rate for an enfield is about INR 350-400 if i recall correctly (USD 8/day). What are you getting?

Do lemme know what dates you plan to ride. We could hook up :)

My travel cost would be like 300-400 USD anywhich way :)

Your plane tickets would be the major cost, and about 200 USD for hiring a bike locally - India's cheaper than you think! :)
