Cool Shot

That is a really cool picture. I wonder where those bikes are now? Are those guys still riding airheads?

From today's ride in beautiful sunshine and warm temps. A cup of steaming fresh coffee on the Six Nations First Nation.

Get the original with the green frame and the gear driven cams.

I love the Le Mans. Always wanted one of the originals. The more I get into it, the more the V7 grabs some part of me. It has a timeless style. That big ass front drum is so sweet. And for a borderline old fart like me, the ergos are more adaptable. The V7 can cruise or be athletic. Le Mans is more purposeful in that respect.

BTW, I'm not sure the V7 Sport ever came with a green frame, or red for that matter. The first year (1971?) a very few had polished chrome-moly frames with red body paint. Then there were the green ones everyone wants. I'm pretty sure the red, green or black ones were made all three years and all but the proto-type units had black frames from the factory. The paint was very crappy, which is part of the reason so many have ended up with colored frames. All of them (sports) had the gear driven cams as well.

The one in the picture is a badged '74 model made in mid-'73. One of the last. It's been modified with 89mm (900cc) venolia pistons in iron liners and a T-3 tranny. Looks like it is about to be mine!!!

Good work. You're prolly right in your choice, LeMans aren't what they were 30 years ago. Maybe best to leave the old school rides for chuffing. Though with the modded motor, I'm sure it'll sing a sweet melody.

Here's an appropriate view from today's ride. Sunny and warm here in Southern Ontario. Wow.

R-dubb, I hope you get that clean V7 Sport. Some of your info regarding frames/colors, I think, is incorrect. I'm no Sport expert, but maybe dig around a little bit if you really care about the details. As I recall, the super rare ones are the red framed models (maybe a hundered or so originals...only 2000 left....). The V7 Sport shares many, many parts with the t/t-3 series. The "Tonti" framed Guzzi's are really like legos. As you said, you can make them aggressive or raise the bars up for more relaxed riding. I used to have the bars super low, far below the gauges. As my years increase, the bars get higher...they will be ape hangers when I'm 50..(40 now). If you get the bike, let me know if you need an parts, I've got a few boxes of Tonti frame parts (not too much Sport specfic).

Cheers
