Several keys.

#1- Be Jimmy L.

#2- Failing that, Be prepared to fall.

#3- This is actually called "front wheel lofting" as it is not a power wheelie, or anything. Its pretty low speed stuff.

So, we are loafing along at idle, 1st gear, no clutch. There is a point at which the machinery engages. You know it on any other machine. I would liken it to lofting a bicycle wheel. You would press down on the pedal just prior to lifting, and That is the point you want to find with the throttle. Where all the gears are beginning to engage, and the motor is just making power.. We practiced just finding it. Blip, Blip Blip. or rather: Braap, Braap, Braap.

So from standing on the pegs, and rolling in 1st at idle, Braap the throttle. Keep the arms bent, you dont want to Tug on the bars, really. Allow the front to come up when you braap it. No clutch anywhere in this. Arms should still be bent when you're up, as you can see in his photos.

Its about feeling that point where the motor snaps, and engages. And then letting it do the work.

I dont know other than this. It works, though. I dont yet have any photo evidence of it, but ADV Donald Duck saw me do it. I realize eyewitnesses are not necessarily admissible in court, but thats my story and I'm sticking to it!

Im thinking about it again, and I never went above 1/2 throttle or so to lift it. Maybe a hair more. Chopping it sends the front down again really fast.

So does hitting the back brake, which should be covered all the time. It will definitely come down quick. He also said that with this bike, you need to be standing to do this.

Um, thats it besides I almost lost my grip a few times. I love this bike more and more all the time, if that were possible.

OK. Current joke is as follows: Who wants to buy my seat?

It's about 20 feet deep. That's gonna hurt the resale value.

Gopher tortoises. We're doing a relocation to prevent killing them for some land reclamation. I'm in the field anyway doing construction mgmt so i get to help catch these buggers. It's fun while it lasts. This coming wednesday, I'm outta here! S. Carolina here we come!

I had a thing in Jo Momma (2 installments) telling all about it. The first time, i chased one down a bigger hole and almost ended up spending the weekend head-first in there. he he .

Ok, back to the motorcycles!

Ghopher tortoises are cool. Saw one in the wild near Bell Fla. some years ago. Good on ya Datchew for doing the conservation thing.
I used to breed South American Redfoot torts at one time and produced over 100 hatchlings. They actually helped pay for my other hobby... m'cycles.
The females were producing plenty of eggs right up until I sold the group, however the fertility of the eggs dropped right off and I produced only a few hatchlings in that last year. It was fun while it lasted. Now my 13 yr. old daughter has taken over and breeds corn snakes which she really enjoys.

Group grazing on clover in the backyard.

Never got tired of watching them hatch.

Now back to m'cycles. Pic taked near Banff a few weeks ago.
