I heard that the hard part after you teach your dog to read is to get them to get their noses off the ground, and look UP

Doesn't that type of sign normally have a diagonal red bar crossing the circle over the item or activity that's forbiddnen?

Looks to me like the sign must be saying "here's your doggie privvy".

See this page and the next about (British/European) Regulatory Signs. They are circular and if they have a red circle they give negative (prohibitary) instructions:

So just replace the horse with the dog. He must obey it's the law!

Hey cool. Thanks Stephen! There were 3 or more versions of these dog signs. Some showed people walking them, some just showed the dog, and of course, some showed the dog doing #2. I feel fulfilled now that these last vestiges of mystery from my trip are now closed chapters.

Went for a fabulous evening ride on the Buell tonight. Even strapped on my old fanny pack type camera bag and dragged along the DSLR. Stopped at a level crossing, one of those level crossings where the tracks and the road are practically running parallel to each other with just a jog in the road to allow the road to cross the tracks. While waiting for a very slow moving but colourful frieght train to make it's way past I couldn't help but notice how cool the Buell looked back lit by the low evening sun with the impressive freight train in the background... So I dragged out the DSLR and framed the most amazing of views...

That's when I noticed there was no memory card in the camera.

So here's a file photo of the Buell taken a few years ago on Mosport.

Problem is they should put the sign to the height of the dogs' eyes otherwise they cannot see it...
