I live in the EU and have never heard of any sort of ban on the import of US made products?

Not really a ban. An example is the Trek bicycle corporation. 98(ish)% of their american bikes are made in China. Only their top of the line carbon fiber bike is made here (in a locked room). I may have some of the particulars wrong, but the EU won't let them import those bikes, so they have a manufacturing plant in Germany.

I'm guessing it is something similar with Lincoln

Banning imports of products made in China isnt something I think would go down all that well with the millions of retailers selling Chinese made products within the EU!

I would have thought taking away US jobs so fat cats can enjoy even greater profits, is perhaps something of far greater importance than politricks?

That is art, not work. Pictures of welding perfection.
I am guessing that not many professional welders can do that.
Just like some people are born with musical talent and play many instruments beautifully, while the rest of us have a hard time playing a stereo...

But this thread is about asking welding questions so my questions is:

HOW'D YOU LEARN TO DO THAT????????

anyone have any jigs or tips for accurate 90 degree angles?

angle welding clamps look nice but are pretty expensive: http://www.amazon.com/Bessey-WSM-9-7.../dp/B0006694FA

I found one tip online of someone using a three axis bracket, like a simpson strong tie or similar, that looked like it may work with some clamping.

Lots of years under the helmet...I was just trying to get the thread back on topic and off the political BS and petty purse fighting...:)

Sadly an almost complete lack of interest in politics has allowed crooks into positions of power, and all the pretty welds in the world, are not going to stop these people screwing pretty much everything and everyone over in pursuit of ever more money and power.............

Thanks NA. From that shot the mill marks are visible on the lower diameter.
Really nice looking welds. Is that back purged, with no filler?
