Grizz, thanks for your response. I have taken the tip to several welding supply, Airgas, Praxair, etc., with no luck. I sent a email to Bernard.

I bought this Lincoln for the brand name and most important the support, which is not there.

That is strange I have gotten a schematic from them on a machine that was built in 50’s

1. No such thing or a lucky find on something used.
2. 7018 DC
3. I don't know?
4. Rod oven.
5. Yes, exposed to air.
6. Forever in a sealed tin box or rod oven.
7. I don't know? Try Miller for options on your machine.

Aluminum rods are available at any Airgas, welding shop, or Ace Hardware store. They are DC-only, not that easy to use, melt very quickly, and not very cheap, but they're easy to get.

Couldn't you just upgrade the gun to something newer?

Yes, I can up grade to a different gun. I used a few tips in twenty years just need a few more. What my gripe is about, Lincoln is a brand that you can get parts for their welders for a long time. It is not the case here. I hear this all the time about welders from China, Taiwan, etc. "They are throw away" This Lincoln is a throw away. I have been looking at a foreign welder and may buy one to replace this Lincoln.

I am still looking for the tips and if the guy that started this thread looks into it maybe it will happen .

It looks like the link that poolside put up is what you need. If it isn’t what you need could you post a picture of your gun.
This whole thing seems kind of strange to me, I thought contact tips were a standard. have you tried taking one into a NAPA and ask for one there.

What kind of logic is this? (unlogic?) The gun is essentially a wear item. If there are no tips available for your 20 year old gun (and there are), then get a new gun.

Why would you replace your Lincoln with China-crap because of the freaking gun?? Tell you what, I'll trade you straight up for a Harbor Freight MIG and I'll send you 20 tips with it.

Davis53, These tips should be available and if not, buy a Tweco diffuser and screw a tweco tip in it.

Thanks Bob, I will give it a try! Got this message back from Bernard.

Good Morning,

Thank you for your interest in Bernard Welding products. This gun has been obsolete for about ten years and the parts have been obsolete about three years. We have a 150 amp Bernard gun but the parts are not interchangeable with the gun you currently have. Sorry for the inconvinence.

Have a great week,
Becky

Well, that being the case, I would contact your local Lincoln dealer and see if they can mix/match parts together to get your gun working. my supplier allways comes up with parts that will interchange.
Worst case, Buy a Tweco mini mig or larger gun. The reason I say Tweco is because there so available and have been around for ever.

Best of luck, Bob
