Thanks James, that was timely! :thumb

Earlier this summer, while riding though Nebraska National Forest, I collided with a turkey, at low speed. Flexed the left side cowling, where I whacked the bird, and now I have lost a chip or two of paint in the crease by the turn signal. Been wanting to get out the touch-up sprayer and re-cover that little bit.

Hey, silver riders, this might be of interest. Several body parts for the silver LC8 can be found on Ebay.de (Germany) as we speak. I guess a dealer tore one apart or so. They are willing to ship worldwide. I could help with the German, if you'd want me to.

Example: two side covers for (at this moment) 17 euros. Here's a link.

Has anyone had any luck duplicating the silver paint on a 2004 mode? I've found the below info on another thread and on another website but my shop says it doesn't cross reference.

    Silver
    Industrial Code: PPG252MB150 silver LC8 2003
Color Code: AXONOBEL ROM208438B grey 2004

There is no KTM part number according to my dealer. Seems that KTM wants to sell painted parts rather than let you repaint your own. I actually want to paint some my fender, winshield and half of my CeeBee windshield.

Paint isn't sold in the US, but the colors are standard Dupont numbers plus the metal flake. My dealer gave me the recipe but I lost it.

Could you just buy the carbon fibre guards and cover it up?
Some have also had good luck painting the tank lowers with bed liner...s'pose it just depends how bad the damage is.

Heres a website for a fella who painted my screen

    DuSold Designs

ask for Mike, he had no problem matching the paint and chameleon colourshift, he may be able to tell you what he used.

    Good luck.

    KTM paint code for the Orange bikes is;

IC185SIKKENS4136C ORANGE BASE + HELIKONJADE 3% FOR METALLIC AXONOBEL

But I agree with Ant, far better fit the protectors in the long run...

Thanks for the info guy's , the carbon protectors are probally my best bet they will cover the damage and I will get the bars as well , I spoke to a local dealer here he tells me the paint has to be imported from Austria and the price is ridiculously expensive .

    Cheers .

your bike for the mold . They do some nice work .
