Have the land, I have the money but my wife thinks we are broke ah well at least she does not complain about the 6 bikes, a bigger door tan the 32" to get into the basement would be nice though.

My building dedicated to motorcycles, but I did make room for a car or two.

So far 4 of them are out there, but I still have a couple more in the house. Now I'll be able to get bigger bikes that wouldn't fit through the 36in door into the basement. Something with a chair and multiple wheel drive.

There's a full upstairs as well.

Obviously there's more to go, but I get a clean slate to do whatever.

This is only one end of the shop (basement/garage with full garage door)

but here's a shot of the sweet little chip maker I brought home Sunday.

There are quite a few tools out of shot while I figured out where to put the monster.

Yes, it's all framed instead of the prebuilt trusses. I'm going to insulate the walls and under the metal roof. Probably cellulose or something similar. I know the radient heat will be good for the lower floor, but I'm not sure if it will reach the upstairs well. If it doesn't, a wood stove will work!

The best part is that I got the wife to think it was her idea! I give her all the credit and enough space for her car!

I am in the same boat, just a little more time left than you. I told the wife the same thing except she can decide where we live, wherever she wants, as long as I can build a shop out back, fill it with tools over a couple of years, and she can't put any of her stuff in it.

Nice looking mancastle.

When I built my mancastle in 1995 (2 story gambrel roofed barn design), I constructed it similarly to you with a framed roof. I did use 16" TGI engineered trusses for the first floor ceiling so I wouldn't have any posts on a 24' span. It's very nice to have a second floor and mine is a wood shop. I also put in 8' garage doors for more clearance.
