Marble and slate are both porous, and slate can be very brittle depending on the quality. Porcelain or ceramic tile would probably be the preferred materials. Porcelain uses the PEI rating scale for durability:

PEI Class 1 Rating: No foot traffic. Wall use only in residential and commercial applications.
PEI Class 2 Rating: Light traffic. Both wall use and bathroom floor applications.
PEI Class 3 Rating: Light to moderate traffic. Countertops, walls, and floors for normal foot traffic.
PEI Class 4 Rating: Moderate to heavy traffic. All residential applications as well as medium commercial and light institutional.
PEI Class 5 Rating: Heavy to extra heavy traffic. All residential and heavy commercial and institutional foot traffic.

Hope this helps!

Mike, You just need to add a heat encapsulator and hot tub to that setup.

I fire up one burner at 1/4 throttle for just a few minutes to warm up the whole garage. There's 1/4"+ gap on the garage door so plenty of fresh air coming in.

That crab burner could almost double as a hot air balloon filler...it'll shoot flames 3'+ high out of each side

After years of working in a dirt and gravel drive, I'm getting a garage.
Right now it's a blank canvas; not insulated or anything. But I've got plans.
Ideas and plans.

I'll have some photos to add here pretty soon.

Barring incomplete burn, the byproducts of burning propane are carbon dioxide and water. Same as what we humans emit while breathing.
