Beer kept cold and charged with CO2 will last months without much noticeable degradation. Heat and oxygen (which lead to more bacteria) are what spoil beer. Keep your kegs cold and pressurized with CO2 instead of a hand pump and you minimize those factors as much as possible.

Nice looking lair, Powerranger!
Thanks! Yes the beer will last months under CO2 pressure and cold. Mine never seem to last much more than a month until it blows foam tho....

Thanks guys. Someday I'll get one installed in my garage. Having a keg on tap sounds awesome for having family and friends over. Someday.

Go Craigslist! Free refrigerator and cheap kegging setup. And I finally have a place to put all these stickers I've had lying around!
And a highly coveted SVRider sticker FTW!

Like the dog, he must be fun.

And if any are interested, I have a full brewing setup I wouldn't mind getting rid of. Please PM if interested. Includes mash tun, 2 soda kegs, co2 cylinder and regulator, 4 mini kegs, several cases of empty long neck bottles with Tavern boxes, plastic fermenter and glass carboy, plus other misc. stuff. No brew kettle or burner.

I almost hesitate to post this here, as it only makes me feel inadequate about my space, or perhaps I should say "the size of it"….

Something to aspire to, and some real eye candy here. Bring your check book...

The wind finally died down so I could take the next step in clearing a spot for my Man Castle:

Note the 25 gallon spray tank on the back of the old Willys, used to wet the ground around the fire and extinguish any stry sparks:

Now I can clear some more trees and do it all over again.

It's the "starting at $40K" that's the killer. That'd be just for the bare space. Some of those garage units look like double- or triple-wide and I'd guess the interior upgrades have to run into the $100s of thousands. But I suppose not a huge amount of play money for the guys who have 5 Ferraris and a couple of Porsches.

Sure , the buildout is up to the owner , but in terms of finding a place to do this , I think its cheap , at least by chicago prices.

yeah, for $40,000 I could build a whole 'nuther garage building on my property. My sister's husband in the near west burbs of chi town is screwed to his one car garage, which wouldnt hold an F150 unless you took the mirrors off. Im pretty sure they are into their place for twice what mine cost.

go west.

Tons of industrial condos sitting vacant in chicago - maybe a bit larger than needed.
