My biggest screw up was putting all the electrical outlets- both 110 and 220-and compressed air outlets at 4' from the floor. A full sheet of 4 x 8 sheet metal, or anything else covers the outlets. Should have been at 4' 6".

Good advice. About a month too late for me though.

Hmmm some seriously nice spaces in here. After spending lots of time planning my future garage, I bought a house and in the blink of an eye (2.5 yrs) ended up here:

(there is a motorcycle in this pic by the way)

So, I happened to be gone for 3 days to a hare scramble our club was putting on. (I broke down, didn't finish) I come home to a suspiciously quiet house and find this:

My wife conned my brother and some friends into coming over and moving all of my crap around and reorganizing my man-hole. I am still amazed and it has been a couple of weeks.

We are lucky to have a house with a 2-car garage and a separate 2.5 car garage.

Here's the smaller garage:

Here's the larger garage after I took it over:

The big garage is jumbled with all of the bikes and work benches in there, but I can push a bike or two out onto the drive way and there is plenty of room.

The irony is that we are slimming back. The K1 and Porsche is gone, the Porsche having been replaced with a Land Rover. We have a 40 ft. Bluebird Wanderlodge motorhome in the side yard and are planning to go full time, head out west, and sell or lease the house.

So if you want the place and are around Jacksonville, FL then let me know.

Here is the quick shot of my junk. It was built in 1936 and is just under 500 square feet. This is the working side, with the storage off to the right. None of the trucks will fit in there, so its bikes and bicycles, skiis and camping gear. We are in the process of grenading the backyard with chainsaws (28 orange trees out last week) and a backhoe to make room for a more modern space.

AAAARGHHH as much as I'd love to trade, I just (as of this event) convinced my dad to relinquish the title. I've been storing it for him for 2 years and wanting it for 10. If you look at http://beyondhelp.smugmug.com you can see a few more pix although I cleaned it a bit since then. It's a 68 with a 472 and is in excellent condition for its age. It is destined to be cleaned up and driven as much as I can afford while I redo the interior etc. Stepdad owns a body shop and we'll take real good care of it.

Right, Toys in there at the moment;

in the big pic, from left to right,
Dangerous chems cabinet (Behind the yammie flag)
1999 Ducati 750SS. Full rebuilt following my crash.
1999 Yamaha R6.
1996 Kwaka ZX6R.
Not featured is the R6 racebike.
On the ledge is the wall of shame. (Crashed bike bit wall)
Workbench.
Bike Rear stand.
Small toolchest. Contains most of the tools needed to fix stuff. Also the tool overflow cabinet.
Large toolchest. Girlfriend bought it for me on my birthday. Fnarr. Keeper++!
Wall of storage and racking. Contains exhaust systems, fairing parts, larger tools.
Bench holding benchgrinder. Soon to be on a pedestal.
Behind the photographer is the kitchen sink.
Parts degreaser.
Cleaning products shelves.

I likes it.

Now all I need is a bike-lifter, and we're all set.
