You have here, it seems to me, two big problems:
1) Kids from sometimes bad backgrounds suddenly becoming multi-zillionaires with absolutely no preparation for fame and fortune. (BTW, I'm not necessarily saying this applies to Bryant.)

2) You have a bunch of athletic guys who are rich and horny and have women throwing themselves at them constantly, 24/7, no matter where they go or what they do.
Now, I'm not excusing them ... but if you were young, rich, handsome (or even ugly) and had gorgeous, nubile young women literally throwing their used panties at you and begging you to go out with them, could you fight the temptation every single time?

Dayam.......I was once a kid ( last century or so),came from
a mostly GOOD background and I damned sure can tell ya that
there's precious little preparation for that kinda fame and

We will all have to wait for the trial to see if he's guilty, but I almost had to vomit when I saw the press conference clips with his wife. She was holding his hand as to say "it's ok if you hose some girl while your on the road, as long as your rich....I will stay with you". Get some self respect woman....let Kobe explain the situation by himself.
Don't even get me started with Malone or Sprewell.

I agree with Rider. I suspect not many of us could resist attractive women regularly making themselves available to us.

As for Kobe, I respect that he's not dodging the issue. He admits to having sex. Hell, he even used the word "adultery." The way I see it, he's actually taking responsibility for his actions. I respect the guy for coming clean.

He's showing more character than most sports figures who get in trouble. Chris Webber comes to mind, but there's a host of others who haven't owned their actions the way Bryant has.
