FS: 1999 KTM 640 Adventure-R, in Lakewood
Well, darn it.
![]() ![]() Baby's on the way, money's tight, so the 640's for sale. I would prefer to sell this locally, so first dibs go here in the Rockies forum before it heads to the broader flea market. Firm price (so don't offer more) $4900. If you have any interest in this bike, trust me, get it. The story: bought a few winters ago from a fellow inmate whose apparent fetish for clean bikes should be the stuff of legend. Only ridden since by me, which is as good as any little old lady -- riding partners can confirm this. Put less than 1K miles on it each summer, which is among the reasons why this 1999 bike has a mere 8200 on the odometer. ![]() The good: rock solid mechanical condition. New sprocket last year, geared now to tackle trails and highway with good balance (old one included in case you disagree), chain good as new, nice high suspension, bar risers, HT hard aluminum panniers, Twisted Throttle/SW Motech sidestand, wide footpegs, road-book holder bracket and cheapskate-special tool tube from the tractor supply place. Suede seat, basically just the stock seat with a slight shaping and recovered by the local upholsterer after I had had it with the old thing. Serviced every spring by a pro, comes with TKCs on and a set of Pirelli Scorps off. All the appropriate paperwork is in hand, including regular manuals and a diligently printed-out and three-ring-bindered service manual. And yes, you get the little briefcase and tool kit with the bottle opener to dazzle your friends. ![]() The bad: Scratched up plastic, because I knocked it over from time to time. It's a dirt bike, dang it, and I love this thing on the high pass roads and trails. Garage queen it ain't, but I never fell over going very fast, so nothing important broke off. It's also got the stripe thing going with the Tripmaster, but I haven't tried any of the fixes people have offered up here yet, because it's still quite readable. And you might not like the trimmed windscreen, but I do, and whichever PO did it did a nice job of it. A few more and bigger pictures here: http://s701.photobucket.com/albums/ww20/denver640/ Not interested in trades, sorry. PM with your number. ![]() (sniff)

Wtb Xr400 (2000 - 2004)
Hey guys, I am in the process of converting my XR650R to full time supermoto...so I need a dirt bike.
Anyone have a XR4 they're looking to get rid of? In a perfect world said bike would already have a pumper carb, maybe a bigger tank, and a pipe...but that is in a perfect world. Let me know. Thanks, R.

Time to get rid of some gear. I posted the first jacket and the gloves on craigslist as well but I knocked a few bucks off for you guys. Forgive the long winded craigslist explanations. I figured I'd just post the Dainese jacket here since it's actually a really nice piece of kit at a really good price.
Xelement leather jacket with mesh panels and insulated liner. It's mostly leather except for mesh panels that run up the inside of the arm to the armpits. It's got some padding stitched into key areas on the elbows, back, shoulders and collarbone. It's got some reflective piping on the back, adjustable straps on the arms and straps on the waist. This is a very cool jacket with outstanding airflow. I wore it a few times last summer on some of the hottest days of the year and was never uncomfortable. For cooler days it's got an insulated, vest style liner. It's still in almost perfect shape despite being worn a few times (even smells new). Size is large. It should fit a 42-46 very well. I'm 5'11 195 lbs and it fits me loosely enough that air can circulate while I'm riding or I can wear a couple of layers under it on colder days. $75 ![]() Xelement leather gauntlets with carbon fiber knuckle, wrist and finger protectors. It's got 2 velcro closures around the wrist, extra gel padding on the wrist and double layered leather on the palms and outside of the fingers. I've worn them a few times but they're still in great shape. They're perfect if you want a full leather gauntlet for the street that won't fly off if you get in an accident or if you just want a cheap pair of gloves that are suitable for track days. They're size large $25 ![]() Dainese Body Safety Jacket. It's got shoulder pads, elbow pads with velcro around the forearms and a removable back protector. The stitching is starting to come up a bit around one of the zippers for the back protector but that's a cheap fix. Everything else is perfect. $100 ![]() ![]()

I'm helping a friend get a road bike.
PM me if you have a nice bike that you're thinking of selling... If you spot something interesting on craigslist or ebay, or if you know another good forum/online flea market that lists pedal bikes, I'd appreciate a heads up!
