I've tried three times at the New Mexico DMV to get a street plate for this bike, and I'm giving up. It's a very nice bike, runs great. But I have a Husky TE250 that's plated, and the 400 is now languishing in the garage.

Goodies:

EE handguards
EE skid plate
E-line carbon fiber pipe guard
Sicass dual sport kit (no turn signals).
Brand New Pirelli Scorpion Pro front (DOT approved)
Rear tire is 1/2 worn Michelin S12
Seal Savers
JD Jetting kit

Needs:
Probably a new battery. I had it on charge, but it's not enough to start the bike. Bike starts/runs fine with kickstarter.

A rider. I hate seeing this beauty collect dust.

I'm including a second seat, I had bought it and cut the foam down a bit. Probably have another air filter included too.
Have the briefcase w/manuals. All paperwork included. MSO is included. Title is from original owner in Texas.
Title is "Off Highway Only" which is why I'm getting so much grief from our DMV.
I want to ride, and not drive all over the southwest trying to get it plated. It's 95% of the way to street legal for most states. Put on a DOT rear tire, get an inspection, and you're good to go.

I'm willing to bring this to the Four Mile Freakout if someone is genuinely interested. Listing it here in the Rockies forum first, then it will go to the Flea Market, then it will go on Craigslist. (Please don't make me use Craigslist! )

Willing to entertain offers of trade, especially Duke, Monster or other naked street bikes. PM me for interest or details.

Pictures (more available if desired):

Joe Rocket Leather coat

size 50 is just too big for me.
Left sleeve zipper is a little funky other than that the coat is in great shape.
Well vented, has zip out liner, elbow, shoulder and back protection

This is the K&N spin-on filter for your LC4, with a neato nut to make removal extra easy. $8.50, which is my cost. Shipping probably won't make it worth the while. It's in Laramie.

2000 DRZ 400E For Sale

A little more than 8,000 miles. Bought it from an inmate here last fall. Just not using it the way I thought I would.

The E model is more off-road worthy but doesn't have a subframe for bags or turn signals. Licensed and a clear title in hand.

Since I purchased it I've:

upgraded the battery with a higher output Yuasa (March '09)
upgraded to DOT legal tires (Pirelli Scorpion front / Dunlop D606 rear) Moose heavy duty tubes front and rear (May '09 less than 10 miles on new tires)
ThumperTalk case savers (new in box)

I also have the old tires which I used this winter and put in Aerostitch studs. They worked great. I also have a few spare studs. Tires come with the bike.

Bike came with bark busters and folding mirrors and an LED tail light and headlight protector.

It has been used as intended so the plastic is in fair condition.

Great bike, runs flawlessly. Prior to my purchase the P.O. had put on a new chain and sprockets. This bike is ready to go for this season and beyond.

Given the upgrades, I'm looking for $2,400.

Here's a few photos. I've got more if you want them:

typical scuffing:

New rear tire:

New front tire:

Thought I'd offer it here before posting more widely in the Flea Market or Craig's List.

I'm in Evergreen, seven miles up Squaw Pass on the way to Echo Lake / Mount Evans.

FS Gripper seat cover

For sale - Gripper seat cover came off of my 2000 XR400 that I sold a couple of years ago. It's been sittin in my garage gathering dust. It has no rips or tears and is good shape. I am not sure what brand it is although it has a badge that says ATS all trac surface. It should fit over top of the existing seat cover because that is how I found it on my bike. I have no idea what it is worth so make me an offer.

PM me if interested.

Riding gear - jackets, gloves...

Way too much stuff has accumulated over the years, time to sell off the stuff that doesn't get worn much anymore.

Aerostich Elkskin Gauntlet - insulated w/ merino wool. Size 10.5, black.
In excellent shape, not worn very often. $99 new, $65 now.
Thumb squeegee, knuckle armor, very warm. They look just like the picture.

My winter jacket is not worn anymore, heated gear and good liners in my other everyday jackets get used.
It's an Alpinestars Drystar 3/4 length heavy winter jacket with CE armor, fleece zip-in insulated liner, inner and outer front zips.
I think it was called the Tech Road or something. It's not on any of the labels.
It's black w/ dark blue (can take pictures but don't have any now). VERY warm jacket, waterproof, and in like-new condition.
Lots of pockets, tasteful reflective bits, nice collar... typical incredible build quality from Alpinestars.
Originally sold for ~$379 I think, I got it on sale at Performance for a great price a few years ago. I think $150 is a fair price for an excellent winter jacket that is like new and has a long life ahead of it. Come try it on.
Alpinestars gear is among my favorite, I have a closetful - but their sizing is different. I wear XL in most everything, but in their gear XXL fits like an XL should. This jacket's an XXL.

Belstaff gear is sold

I have some extra used KTM stuff. Best to contact me via PM or email.

1. Two sets of KTM "Flex" brake and clutch levers. These fit my 09 450. (Brembo) I don't believe any other hardware is required--I swapped stock levers back on and didn't have anything extra or missing. $50/lever OBO.

............... Larger version of above photo.

2. Trailtech flange protector for 08-09 250-300 XC/XCW. Was fit but I decided to remove it. $35

............... Larger version of above photo.

WTB KTM or Husaberg 48 mm fork tubes or internal parts.

WTB, Cheep used WP 48 mm fork tubes. These can be from a exc or sx or berg. Mainly interested in the hydrastop cartridges.

Hey, I recognize that bike !!! I'm the P.O. on that one.

You might want to point out that it also has a new High Output Moose stator that was installed late last summer. Great little bike, hope it finds a new owner soon.

Thumb Cheap dual-sport tires

More garage cleaning!

Metzler Tourance's Rear: 130/80-17, Front: 100/90-19. Should be good for BMW GS's, Triumph Tigers, Aprilia Caponord's, Vstrom's, etc.

Used, but definite life left in them. About 1.5 - 1.6mm tread depth. Minor cupping on the front as typical with DS front tires.

List price for a new pair is $285 from a discount place like Motorcycle Superstore.

How about $75 for the pair??
