Corvairs

By the time he finished with Corvairs, my father owned 38 of them.

He is proud to say that he had a hobby for 20 years that paid for itself. Not only a hobby, but everyone in our family also had a car to drive. He bought many of them for $25 dollars and would rebuild them into cars that sold for several thousand. I think his best fetched $3500, of course, it probably took three or four cars to build it.

I had a great time learning about cars with my old man.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

44 years and not a single drip, except the one behind the wheel. At least four Corvairs and thousands of miles and not one single belt failure.

Now, the Bug went through three or four throttle cables, one clutch cable, and one burnt instrument panel, and rust, and top speed of 60mph, and... etc, ad nauseum.

I'll stick with the good stuff, thanks.

Shouldn't this be in Shiny Things?

My bug left me stranded on Rte 66, required pulling the engine for a $.50 o-ring, and I still have traumatic memories of the heater. The corvair had a great trunk up front with a drain hole for ice and beer .

Maybe but....

I only had one Corvair, 1964 as I recall, only car I ever had that the engine actually fell out. Rear vulcanized motor mount failed and the engine rotated around the transaxle dropping at the rear. Pulled a bunch of wire loose, but with a small jack I was able to put it back in place, chain it, hook up the wires and drive home.

K1200RS QD Tail rack

Back to our regularly scheduled program.

I have a BMW part number 71602337149 rear luggage rack adapter that will fit a K1200RS and possibly a GT.

This snaps on and off the stock rear rack so you can mount your case or soft bag and have it quickly removable.

It comes with one key.

New these are $176 so how about less than 1/2 price. No extra charge for the dust. :-) $70.00 for ADVers

I am available for pickup only on weekends.

It's got 5157 miles on it now. All the nice swag that he put on it is still there. I've put a better seat on it and new plastics and I have the stock parts to pass on.

She's on CL for $3200, I'm flexible on price within reason. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks,
Deano

Dean,

Get a 525, they're cheap right now.
Besides we don't want those Husky freaks' numbers to get out of hand.

I bet if she painted motorcycles she'd sell well here.

Dunlop D803

My brother just bought a new to him KTM505 and it came with a brand new trials tire listed above. We put a whopping 12 miles on it Saturday (one of our crew decided he needed to instantly inspect a cactus at a high rate of speed, head first, which ended our day). He likes his Desert IT, so he is going to run that instead. The Dunlop is for sale for $65 if any of you FF's want it. Just PM me if your interested.

Here is the copy from my craigslist ad, le me know if you have any questions:

Yep, your read that right we are selling our 1985 Ford Van with only a little over 93,700 miles. If you are looking for something to haul all kinds of things this is your new vehicle. This baby was loaded when it was new, but a little less now. It has only a drivers and passenger seat, so if you are looking to haul the soccer team you are out of luck. The other seats are long gone and I dont know where they went, so dont bother asking for them. It has a 5.6L V8 with dual fuel tanks, which you will need, because it is no Priuis, but when your brakes fail on your Prius you could fit it in the back to take it to the dealership. Other options that are installed and still working: am/fm stereo, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, air conditioning, and intermittent wipers.

The body is in good shape considering this was built before I graduated high school. It has some rust spots and dings and dents, but nothing major. The rear tires have some good tread left on them, but the fronts might need to be changed soon. The carpet in the back needs to be torn out, it smells like dirty socks and stale beer. We will leave this task to the new owner, none of us want to touch it.

We will remove our logo and stuff along the sides before we sell the van.

The original owners manual is still in the vehicle and we have a clean Colorado title in hand.

If you need detailed pictures please send an email and we will send you some more pictures. Call to schedule an appoinment to view and test drive the vehile. You must have a valid drivers license and insurance to test drive the vehicle.

Tom 970-790-5218 during business hours.

Ps: we will even leave the rubber matts and trash in it if the new owner wants them.

This needs to go, who needs a van??
