Ben, same as before...KBB says $5998 - $7473. It's going to need tires, front brake pads, one CV boot is gone which I haven't gotten to yet and probably due for a timing belt. So how about $4k as is. It has been super reliable, I change the oil and thats about it. Wouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country tomorrow, actually I'm driving to Abq on Sunday... Got a 950 for trade?

950's don't run into trees, they run over trees. Ditch the tree magnet

It looks like I'm going to sell my 1985 Mr2. Last time, it barely passed emissions and its due again. The bike car only has 92,000 miles or so and I've owned it for 20+ years. It sat in storage for a long time until I got it running and drove it across country a couple of years ago.

It's at the shop now having an oil change and new oxygen sensor. It also has a relatively new spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap. I'm probably going to try to run it past emissions to see if it passes. It might.

This is what the car looks like.

The shop low balled offered me $900 for it. Two of the four cylinders have low compression. A/C doesn't work. I'm not sure about what it's worth. Used, low mileage engines from Japan are going for under $800 to $1,000 but I don't have the time to do a swap.

p.s. If you know of a good shop for engine swaps, let me know.

Western engine in Fort Collins did a swap for me on a Jeep with an inline four a few years back. As I recall, it was very reasonable, and the service was excellent.

You find a junkyard engine for say $600, and I'll put it in for you.
2K for labor and little things??

see, it's not the engine that is so bad, but the hours needed to do it right is where you rack up the dollars.
