The Big Pantie Ride 2007

Thanks to some fine customer service by South Sound BMW, Greg was able to join Bob, Dave, Steven and myself for a fine day of riding In the Olympic national forest. The weather was fantastic, the veiws spectacular, and the roads all clear of snow. For the most part . We followed some well placed signs to the camp site of the Big Pantie party. After some discussion, it was desided to continue on up the mountain and pass on the festivitys .
The ride ended as planned at the Fishbowl with good food and beverages Thanks guys!

Great Ride!

I had a great time riding with you guys today! Hopefully, we can go on another ride soon.

I put the pictures I took today on my web page. Also, if your interested, I also have pictures of my ride over Chinook pass yesterday.

Let's hear some ideas for the the next ride. Through Capital forest and points west? The Satsop towers are a fun place to see some of our tax $$$ at work. Lots of area to the south that need exploring also .

Ideas for south sound rides -

Idea 1 - Start at "The Place" for breakfast - Mudd Bay Olympia
- The newly rebuilt E-line in Capital forest to Oakville - gravel
- Oakville Brooklyn road to Brooklyn (gravel) then Smith Creek to Raymond (gravel)
- paved - Hwy 6 to PeEll then Lost Valley rd to Boistford
- Ceres Hill rd (gravel) to Bunker creek and onto Michigan Hill and Prather roads -
- Lunch at "Dick's Brewery/NW Sausage and Deli in Centralia

Idea - 2
The National Forest roads between Cinebar and Elbe - NF-71, 72, 73, 74
Breakfast in Tenino @ Scotty B's - Lunch in Elbe
Twisty backroads from Tenino - Thru Tono to Cinebar
Explore the National forest roads - I have NOT been in this area recently.

Idea - 3
Explore the logging roads around Bawfaw peak (Boistford peak). I have driven these roads on work but not recently and not extensively. I do not even know if they are open to the public - but I would like to find out.

Idea -4 - I am thinking about it!!!

your talking sunday as in June 3rd, if so I might be able to make it, depends on how the work goes in the race shop tomorrow. would be up for either option 1 or 2, i am familiar with the general areas but have not spent much time on the forest service roads.

I am in spanaway so it is not far for me to make breakfast at either start point.

Hey NWrider50, a couple of us so far are heading a little east on Sunday the 3rd. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=234761

The proposed south sound routes look great! Next weekend? Looks like you might be busy at PIR. We should get a big group ADV bikes out there to spectate. If you've never seen the road racers do their stuff, It's a must see .
