How about we try for Sunday the 19th? Meet at the Spar around 8:00 am for breakfast and take ride and meet at the Royal in the afternoon for refreshments.

I just got in from a 4,200 mile adventure up north and need a couple days to get the scooter back in shape. A flat rear tire at 80 mph was one of the many interesting events on the trip. The tire plugging kit I've been packing around for 6 years worked like a charm! Rode the last 250 miles from Moses lake via back roads ( at a relaxed pace ) and enjoyed the great weather and sights.

We didn't make it to Denali as planned. Miles of gravel and rain on the Casiar hwy took a heavy toll on my riding partner.

Recomendations:

Do not not attempt a 5,000 mile trip into Alaska with only 1.5 years of seat time.

Do not load your Wee-strom so it looks like the Beverly hillbillys pick-up truck.

Do not grab the brakes on loose gravel when the bike squirms around a little

Do bring lots of clean shorts for comfort after exciting days.

See ya all back on the road.

I hope he's still my friend. I know he had fun, but some days were mixed with extreme fatigue and sheer terror . Live and learn......

A fellow rider (FJR1300) and very nice fellow. He however felt it neccesary to write all 3 of us for 60mph in a 50mph zone, even though we were just cruising along at a safe and sane rate. Claims of complaints of sport bike squids traveling at very high rates of speed and scaring the public, and an increasing fatality rate has prompted a crack down on motorcycles on Hwy 410 and around Mt. Rainier. Oh well, such is the system. They can't catch the geeks wheeling down the Hwy at 100mph, and they won't touch the rolling road block of 12 chrome barges riding side by side at 45mph holding up even the RV drivers!

I have no cause to rant though. I have been known to exceed the posted speed limit at times by a little more than 10mph . So I'll gladly pay my $113.00 fine and caulk it up to Karma. See ya when we get back from our 2 weeks of fun in Alaska and Canada.
Hey I got a sweet premade defferment request you can use. It worked for me.

Any takers for a South Sound ride and MAG Sunday the 19th ? Morning tour of Capitol forest and afternoon Beer, Food and Lie session ?
I'll be at the Spar at 8:00am for mass consumption of fried chicken embryos and shreaded swine flesh .

I want to be there, given you are meeting 5 minutes from my house, but will be out of town.

Steven and I will be at the Spar in downtown Olympia at 8:00 am, then head for Capitol forest. If there's no interest in meeting back in town in the afternoon, I think we'll ride back through the Shelton area and hit some of the fun FS roads along the way .

Light turn out, All 2 fo us. The chicken fried steak at the Spar is killer . Had a great dust free tour of Capitol forest. The Smuggler poker run was in progress, and crossing through their check points was fun. Tasty burgers at the Bears den in McCleary . Next ride, way south sound. Crater lake Labor day weekend TTFN!

Gig Harbor is kind of a 2nd home for me. Anyone want to head over into south part of Olympic national park this weekend? Breakfast in Shelton? Belfair? Somebody down South must want to get out and ride . I have to stick to the FS roads for the most part until a DS bike finds it's way to my garage. The poor V-pig has suffered enough damage for this summer .
