I loved John Kruk's commets on ESPN about ManRam's "7 run homer" he hit on Tuesday night.

he apparently cares about meaningless home runs

nice arms raised leisurely admiration of a homer when you're down 4. someone tell him they keep score in baseball

he's not as bad as mannkey but he's still an idiot in my book.

I don't give a rat's ass how good either of them are. Both will be watching the world series from the comfort of their living rooms.
Huge difference between Manny and A-Rod. Lovem or hatem A-Rod plays his hardest every day. Manny is a friggin joke. Sux fans make a big deal about how clutch he is--should be at his salary. But he is not good for the team overall and the sux ownership knows that which is why you see him out on waivers all the time.

Yeah I think A-Rod gives a 100% everyday (as opposed to Jeter's 110%) every day. He does do some rather punk things, but they are done to win as opposed to showing off. Manny is a jerk and clutch or not I wouldn't want him. Must be a Heights thing
The only non-pitcher I would want from the Sox is Ortiz. He is the best clutch hitter in baseball, his body might not let him do everything that others do. But from the limited amount I've seen him play, he gives everything his body will let him.
I wouldn't take Manny for free and hell no do I not want to lose A-Rod.
Let's go Indians!!!
No I am not a bandwagon jumper, but anyone but Boston

Just yesterday I heard that the Yankees announced that they will not negotiate with A-Rod if he exercises his opt-out clause after the World Series. That's an interesting tack on NY's part. Boros can't (legally) negotiate with any other clubs before an opt out and NY claims they won't be around for a bidding war if the opt-out is exercised.

Certainly NY wants to avoid getting into a situation wherein Boston or someone else with deep pockets forces them to pay A-Rod even more to keep him for the next three years.

It'll be interesting to see how this works out.

Actually I believe that Cashman has played this exactly correct. Think about it, the Yanks don't need A-Rod to get knocked out of the first round of the playoffs. If the Sux make a big play for A-Rod they lose Lowell (we will gladly take the underappreciated Lowell off your hands) and the opportunity to get more pitching. If A-Rod goes to the Cubs or some other team well so be it. Cashman has made some very smart moves this year, inclduing passing on the GAGnee. I think he is just saying to A-Rod that he has only so much value to the Yanks, if he thinks he is worth more fine--go get it. However, your opportunities for a ring diminish substantially. I like it.

The Indians have invited country singer Danielle Peck to sing the National Anthem before tonight's game. Danielle Peck is Josh Beckett's ex-girlfriend. Coincidence? I think not.

Stay classy, Cleveland!

Not that I hold out much hope for it, but if that ass-hat Manny pulls that "look at me!" stunt with the Rockies, I'll bet that Jeff Francis or Josh Fogg would put the next pitch he sees right in his ear. What an asshole.

Three! four!
Three! four!
Three! four!

(bunch of ah-ah-ahs here)

All this energy calling me
Back where it comes from
Its such a crude attitude
Its back where it belongs
All the little kids growing up on the skids are goin

Jumpin (jean) gene genies, moody james deanies goin

Cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks
Cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks

Mama knows but she dont care
Shes got her worries too
Seven kids and a phony affair
And the rent is due
All the little chicks with the crimson lips go
Cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks
Shes livinin sin with a safety pin
Shes goin cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks

Cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks

Ill play em just like me grand dad do
He was a rocker and I am too
Oh cleveland rocks, yeah cleveland rocks
So find a place
Grab a space
And yell and scream for more

Cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks
Cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks
Cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks
Cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks
Cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks
Cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks

(bunch of ah-ah-ahs here)

Three! four!
Three! four!
Three! four!
Ohio

...and in this corner the whiny Dream Syndicate with Boston:

Come back to Boston as soon as you can
The whole thing ain't gone down according to the plan
Morning when I wake up I don't like what I see
And late at night my dreams are terrifying me

Well, I was walking by the river in the early morning dew
Singing out lines from "Cypress Avenue"
I wonder what he felt like when it all came down
Come back to Boston before I hit the ground

And the winners stand confused
They don't want to be misused
And the losers that came before
Say "I don't want to be here anymore"

I was standing on the back porch, looking at the books
Poets, politicians, beauty queens and crooks
I wonder where he stood when the information came
Come back to Boston before I jump the train (ch)

Come back to Boston or I'll meet you halfway
Somewhere by the middle of the interstate
We can take it on down to some cold deserted lake
And come back to Boston before we make the same mistake

Do you remember when we used to sing: Sha la la la la la la la la la
la de da.... (just like that)...

sounds like even back in the 80's Steve Wynn saw the writing on the wall

Worse then that, WTF, can't he slide into home plate? Who the hell sent him from 2nd on a two out single to shallow right? The man is not fast, the throw was high to home plate and he might have been safe had he not let up and F'ing WALKED into home plate!

He can hit, but this is one Sox fan that has never been a fan of Manny being Manny and I would not be at all unhappy if they traded his circus act to another team. I have had it with his lazy play in the feild, big bat or not.
