One thing I've noticed is that Tavarez and Varitek don't seem to be on the same page at all. Every time J.T. pitches, Tek wears out the grass between home and the mound going out for conferences, and these exchanges don't seem to be particularly friendly most of the time. At one point in last night's game, Tavarez shook off Varitek four times in one sequence, prompting Tek to spread his arms and shrug, as if to say, "What the fuck, Dude? You got a pitch I don't know about?"

Tavarez has a reputation for being something of a hot-head, and his stubborness definitely hurts him at times. If he could learn to keep his pride in check, relax, and trust the best game-calling catcher in baseball, he'd win a lot of games.
I agree with you, but it was the run support last night that fell short.

That's been a problem for the last few years. LOBs are kind of a double-edged sword, though. Good offensive teams always leave a lot of men on base, simply because they always have a lot of men on base. On the other hand, stranding runners can also be an indication of a lack of power up and down the lineup, as well as an inability to come up with timely hits. I don't know what the Sox' team batting average is with two outs, but I'll bet it's not very good.

hey Sux fans

how's it feel?

Roger Clemens goes back to NY.

He could have gone to Boston and been part of a great starting rotation.
but NOOOOO

I guess that tells you what hat he will wear when he goes into the hall.

He'll always wear this hat, as far as I'm concerned:

The Yanks can have him. It's still not going to be enough to save that steaming heap of a pitching staff. I like what we have, especially if Lester comes back strong. The Sox will win the division going away, Clemens or no Clemens.

Between A-roid and Clemens, are the yankees going to be able to afford any other players next year?

Fear--in Boston it's whats for dinner

The Yankees could not have had a worse beginning to their season, and the Red Sox just the opposite. Still, the Yanks are only 5 1/2 games back. They have made that up on the Dead Sox many times with just a month to go in the season. It must suck to know whats coming. Enjoy the spring Sox fans. As the gladiator said "your time for celebrating yourself will soon come to an end."

What kind of loser dickhead does it take to piss in the punchbowl of the fans of a team with a 5 1/2 game lead, just 29 games into the season? What a fucking douchebag buzzkill move that was~ Hater.

His parents were closely related, not married and mom sniffed glue and smoked while she was pregnant with him. Grew up next to a toxic waste dump, and he's a huffer. Otherwise, his opinions hold water. Like his head.
