Howdy Andy,

Saw ya Guzzi at the market yesterday...would recognise that rack anywhere - nice triangulation.

I was thinking the dirt down from Orford too.

Will see what Andreas' plans are...

... sorry for no reply in a while ...

... just back from 4 days navel gazing at some northern hippie place ;-) ...

Which way? ... any suggestions? ... nuthing that a map and a few blokes (any sheilas?) over a pie at Richmond Bakery Sat 12.30 couldn't fix I guess ...

What time at camp? ... dunno either ... whatever people who want to ride together feel comfy with I guess ... haven't spoken to Mr J (Lemming #2) about this in a while, but my guess is that him & me wouldn't mind being there by 4 latest ... he's got important things to do ... letting the red breathe being one of them ...

Hello Ian,

Nice to hear from you & welcome!

Looks like you've got a KLR250? (your profile, or am I confused as usual) ... my other dream bike!

At least 2 ADVriders with DR650s in Southern Tas, me & Andree on Bruny (whatever his ADVrider name).

Dirt from Orford ... whatever turns you on, may see me in on this one too, plodding at the back of course! ... I'm not particularly fixed on the idea of everyone riding together all the time. If it should happen that different grouplets want to go different directions and/or different paces than I'm all for it (good old Boolean Logic bastardised here Fuddy ;-) ) ... as long as at least some look out for each other and there are some agreed 'catching/meeting up' places ...

Clear as mud?

Hello All,

Quite a few replies! wots going on 'ere?!?

Anyway ... welcome all! ...

... if we catch up with some of you at Richmond Bakery this Sat 12.30 over a pie & plotting routes on maps that'd be good ...

... and anyone else who still wants to join ... meet us at Lime Bay by 4pm latest is my guess, prolly earlier. If you happen to be first at Lime Bay official camp ground ... pick a nice spot and don't hide your 2 wheel mount, we'll find you and try to settle close to you! ...

... does that sound like a reasonable plan? ...

Have lost track of the count now ;-) .

Also had a few non-ADVers emailing saying that they wouldn't mind a camp out ... Pam, Belinda & Stu, Liz (maybe) so far ... all in 4wheelers.

Yep Andreas...spot on... I haven't been in around there, so seemed a good chance to have a bit of a look.

Not sure what the tracks are like (?), can't see them being too bad.

tracks are easy ... tourist car standard ...

... they've been done with great gusto by several DL650s (with road type tires in the wet ... slippery clay in places) and even a GS500 ...

... the Austrian beasts should do just fine ;-)

... [showing my age here, I know, but I can remember hooning around on top of the range KTMs in Austria in the late 70's, me fuelled with 70%+ proof Austrian fruit schnaps and fired on by some very spunky blondes, the 50cc KTMs running on 1:50 2stroke mix ... those were the days ... ] ...

Yep that's what I thought (about the tracks, not the Austrian blondes - will have to hear that whole story btw)

Still working on Scott to come....but its a tough gig...the promise of "spunky" Austrian blondes might just be the ticket....
