Hope everyone had a good xmas.

Just a quick note to say the new owners at Weldborough Pub are a young couple and are more than happy to have bike riders. They even took down the sign saying no riding gear in the lounge.

We called in there the other day for a quick beer with all our dirty off road riding gear and they told us we are welcome to sit in the lounge area etc.

So lets get another overnighter happening in the new year and perhaps a ride down to St Marys or St Helens.

We are going camping at Weldborough Pub from the 22nd to 25th'ish January for Helen's Birthday.

She wants to do an old fashioned Weldborough to Mathina ride (all off road tracks) to have a quick bite to eat at Mathina on one of the days and an easier dual sporty ride up to perhaps Gladstone or down to St Helens on one of the other days.

The Mathina ride will take on some of the harder tracks...fern track etc so only true off road junkies need apply (although you can forestry road it all the way if you wanted to tag along still) but the East Coast or Gladstone ride will be easy peasy.

Weldborough Pub has new owners and great camp ground so it will be a good time to check out if the new Publican is as bike friendly as he suggests.

Every one welcome to come riding and or help Helen celebrate her '45th' birthday

Listen up adventurers!!

Nicki, Danger Dave (he calls himself Wannabe but I like my name for him better) and myself are doing the Western Explorer next weekend (16th) Camping/cabining it in Strahan or Corinna Saturday night, then next day we'll do the WX. After that we want to do the Hellyer Gorge road down to Waratah for a night at the pub there.

What we want to know, especially from the northern horde, is a route from the end of the WX across to the Murchison Highway. Preferable dirt but not single track.

Fuel is also a consideration as our last fuel stop will obviously be in Zeehan.

So inform me!!
