I know most was tar but the ride was great. Some of the roads I haven't been on for years so it was great. Had a fair bit on the last couple of weeks and working long hours, so the ride was well needed even though I ride to work most days. Looking forward to the DVD night. Also looking forward to going south at the end of the month for a week of riding and exploring.

All Good

Went for a couple of hundred K ride around Black River Rd thru to Buckland and then down past Rhyndaston. All my new purchases worked well, in particular the new TKC's.

Buckland. Lots of tracks thru there. Doesn't look it in the photo but this was as steep as buggery. I have a gpx file if you ever drift that way-

Two trail bike riders in Tasmania's north-east have been badly injured in an off-road crash.

Emergency services were called to Billy Cock Hill near Tulendeena shortly after 1:00pm on Saturday when the two riders collided with each other.

One rider sustained head injuries and was flown to the Launceston General Hospital.

The second rider suffered a broken leg.

Police say both riders were wearing helmets and safety gear.

No-one from here I hope?

Not an uncommon event on single track. Looking forward to the 21 July though, footage should be good.

McKays road is a good condition gravel haul road, they don't come much better or faster ... It's not very far, around 30 -40km, so about 30 mins I guess... A fair bit of traffic use the road so it's probably wise to take it easy...

6:50 onwards in this video is up the M-road (McKays) from the Long marsh dam turn off towards Lake Leake

Track file:
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/920199

And it's on this one, coming from the Little Swanport side, with a detour into Long Marsh dam/weir at around 150-160km on the track file...

The track into Long Marsh is good fun, and good if you want a stint off the gravel, but is likely to be fairly wet at the moment (the weather was fairly dry in the video above and there was still quite a few big puddles), + it's a bit steep and rocky at the weir end), nothing too bad though... The Dominator handled it ok with about 50kg+ loaded on it..

Enjoy !
