Wow, that is perfect heavy-bike sand...it almost clumps in your hand!

Good vid, it takes a real rider to post your crashes for all to laugh at. Excellent riding and camera position in any case!

Thanks!

But, everyone falls off all the time? Don't they?

Ol' racer's axiom

"You're not going as fast as you can 'til you fall off."

Awesome clip. That POV1 is a nice camera too.

Just a question though - when you buried it & did your tuck & roll - digging out later, it looked like you were putting a lot of force on the front forks trying to lay it over. In terms of doing it myself one day, is there any risk of damaging something doing that - or am I worrying about nothing?

Cheers

Didn't work out as planned.

I was experimenting with hanging my Pansonic Lumix off the side of the gas tank using a suction cup mount.

Only problem was that after I got about half an hour of video and came back home I discovered that the electronic image stabilization reduced the great video of the camera to an epileptic seizure inducing bunch of jiggling and shaking video.

The only bits that were viewable were when I was stopped and when the camera was focused on stuff that was far away. The sky for instance

Great vid kamanya!

Those sinkholes sure can get you. Dammit, now you've made me want to go and slap a paddle tire on my 990S and have a rip in the sand! I'm sure a set of knobs would do OK but I can imagine the roost a 990 with a paddle will throw!

It's a 200kg dirt bike that can easily do 200kph +, considering the forces involved just in that, I doubt there is anything you or I can do in this situation that would justify your worries.

Tried another angle on the bike.

First half the POV.1 is mounted on the foot peg. The camera moves a bit. Will need to get the O-Ring that I have been too lazy to buy as it is not a problem when i have it mounted on my helmet.

Second half it is on the bash plate. They are tough camera's but I was mindful of not falling on that side.
