We have a cabin in Island Park and I've ridden there my whole life. Funny thing is, I was riding that exat trail in September on my 950 as well! Thanks for sharing.

Met a non-moto friend tonight for some beers, he had seen the vid and was "blown away" by our feats. Good times! Many nice compliments on the production value.

Marked it with the gps and rode out about 7 miles. The gps "lost it" on the first run which is why you hear me but don't see me in part of the vid. The gps was spot on for the second and third runs but unfortunately the little p&s camera quit filming and I did not know it.

The old railroad trail was my favorite part of the trip by far. I had the 990 suspension really working in those whoops. I went back and forth through the sandy S turns multiple times. All the bridges are really cool too. I'd love to go back and ride that area a lot more on a 450 or something.

Yes, that section is a lot of fun on a real dirt bike. Ridden it countless times. Sadly, there's really no true singletrack in Island Park so actually a dual-sport is the way to go. As mentioned, I was through there on my 950 within a week or two of when you rode it. Here's a pic of me right where the railroad grade intersects the gravel road just before the first big railroad trestle. This is me using hand gestures to describe the rodeo we had all just encountered on the big bikes riding the gravelly whoops. A couple of 950's just about had a big yard sale :)

One guy in our group on a KLR did lose his big dry bag off the back and a friend on a 950 picked it up:

The Island Park area has lots of great dual sport opportunities. Here's my 16 year old on my old KLR on the south end of Island Park:

And me earlier this summer on my KLR just north of Island Park (Blacke Butte Montana) with my youngest son in the Gravelly Range:

Sorry for the thread hijack....love my 950, and just to keep the thread alive, here's a small video of my friend Brent on his 950 last year bouncing his way up Comb Ridge in Southern Utah and then down some ledges in Lockhart Basin south of Moab.
