No idea of camping details at this stage

A bit better idea of track location for you:

The Hattah race is not actually at Hattah- is closer to Colignan (Boononar Rd).

Plenty of camping options around that way even if you dont want to camp at the track.

You seem to have local knowledge......anyone else can give their "two bobs" worth too.

How far along Boonoora Rd from the Calder Hwy is the track & what facilities are usually there? ie food, bar etc

How tough are the following roads/tracks to ride on a "tent/gear laden (for only one night) bike"?;

Getting there;
Settlement Rd
Meridian Rd
Castles Crossing Rd

Nowingi Line Track
Underbool Track
Pheney's Track
Meribah Rd

Masterbrewer, I'd say that 'notsoBlase' does have a lot of 'local knowledge'of those areas.

The ride sounds good I'd be keen to ride along too, hope to have my new panniers by then.

Yair, good idea, but bugger me, (well, don't, but you know what I mean), it's the 1st of June, so I've missed out on the Melrose run.

, but I guess there'll be a next time.

At the moment I'm organising a run to the middle of NSW for April 2008, for two bmw clubs combined 50th birthday, so although I'm not organising some thing for this sites readers (unless you're bmw riders),

I would like to come along and beer up, or a fang through the hills, or out to the country for a dirt road ride somewhere?

For me overnight campouts are out coz I'm a 24/7 carer for an elderly parent, but I can get time off for good behaviour sometimes for a day ride.

So, I'll keep in contact through this thread, or other.
I'll be starting one off about the above mentioned 50th B'day ride sooner than later.

I thought Poh pias when I first read the post, but then I got to the bit about heating it up and cutting it, so Pi Pias it might be, i know the Malacca Corner, beaut Laksa's yum yum is the word. If I couldn't ride I'd at least have to have a laksa every week.

What about making a monthly meeting for a beer, or a cafe? or ? or say the last saturday of the month, for a ride?

I'd love to go Hattah but I am having arm surgery Monday afternoon and will be of the bikes for quite a while. If there is a local pub or Luksa run let me know and if I can get about will try to front up.

Some one suggested a regular get together on a fixed day every month or so any suggestions?
