Setting the scene:

After departing Sunday March 9th from "Windy Point Lookout" (Belair Rd southern continuation of Unley Rd) @ 7.45am you will descend into steep hairpin bends & into ever winding lush valley roads before attacking the first "summer track only" road.

Then onto a fast freshly spread 1" thick narrow, winding, undulating gravel road before the first splash & dash at Meadows.

From there, climbing up through dense scrub tracks out onto one of the most spectacular views which will test your senses as you are drawn down a steep somewhat rocky, rutted track before climbing up onto the ridges again.

Down a narrow winding gorge track & over to the next ridge with more spectacular views as another steep descent over loose ground. (easily negotiated on the TDM mind you, just sounds good to embellish the moment )

Onto Compass for another splash & dash and Trev's pastie then up to Spring Mount Conservation Park & down the "Strangways Fire Track": Mount Robertson; Mount Scrub & into Yank/Normanville via the fabulous Kemmiss Hill Rd for another splash of fuel.

Out of Yank to Wattle Flat the Moon Hill. On to Mount Terrible lookout overlooking Aldinga Bay via Pages Flat, then onto Badgers Rd, Toop Hill & Razor Back Rd to finish at say Stirling pub to clear the dust.

Everyone is welcome at their own risk & responsibility, even if you are not going to Flinders & bring your cameras.

Ride took in 866kms in 2 days from adelaide to loxton, then pinnaroo via Border track. Then onto Lameroo south into Ngarkat to Tintinara and home.

Well lads I've gone and done it! I flew to Sydney on the red eye flight Saturday morning. By 10.30am I was makin tracks out of town on this baby...



First impressions from a long trip:
- WOW! What a bike! Smiles for Miles!
- Seat is a little tough on the arse.
- Did I mention the sound!?!?!?!?! Music to my ears!

I had one minor/major problem on the way home... fuel... leaking... The breather on the right hand side tank that links it to the left tank was leaking from around the grommit. So when the bike is full/near full under heavy acceleration fuel would seap from around the grommet and run down the side of the bike. It's made a bit of a mess of the clear protective film over the stickers and left marks on other parts of the guards and tank..
I'll get it sorted when it goes in for it's 15000km service in a week or so. Dunno if anything can be done on a warranty level in regards to the marks on the guards and tank...?

Anyways it's off to Regency Park tomorrow to get the ID check done and transfer the rego over.

The best way I can relate the purchase of this bike to you is... It's like getting a drop dead georgous new girlfriend - you don't need to be riding her all the time... just looking at her keeps you satisfied at times too!
