Just about to get one myself mate. P/S are getting some black ones in, and the price $6.5K is a bargain. Where did you get the tank from? I'll be needing one of them as well.
Regards Bob.

Actually $7300 inc orc's + 12 mths rego..................runout blue ones only,(don't like blue ) black ones will be a new price.

Tony got the tank from PS fitted I think. I'll ask him the cost price & get back to you. Otherwise contact DRTrev who got his direct from USA.

Sorry HumanOne it's Tony's. It would be a one way trip to the OCR & beyond if it was mine.

Question soft panniers

G'day folks. Just looking for a few suggestions (polite) I am looking for some soft panniers for my DR650 & am wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to some decent ones & where they may be available in Adelaide as local bike shops in Clare Valley don't have anything. Wouldnt mind getting something within next 2-3 weeks as heading up Flinders Ranges near end of may with a few mates & want them by then. Will be keeping a close watch out for low branches though.

You didn't mind the blue ones a couple of weeks ago!!

I'm not a lover of those huge tanks on the DR - soft fronts etc, even with some stiffening. I went for the 18.5 lt IMS and landed it here for $300 - from justgastanks.com. I get 360+ kms out of the IMS and that suits me fine....not sure where I'd go and want to do 600+ kms without a fuel stop.

cheers

I have some panniers from AndyStrapz which I am very happy with. Maybe not the fanciest ones around, but really tough and they are locally made.

http://www.andystrapz.com/expedition_panniers.htm

Not sure how they would fit to the DR though, I had to make up some bars to keep them off my side panels.

G'Day Gum, there is a group of us that do the Finke every year, but we have put it off this year as we are doing a Darwin trip in early August instead. Will post next years trip on here when we go.
Regards Bob

SA / VIC / NSW Annual Border Run 2008

A number of us thought it was about time we interacted with our Victorian and New South Wales counterparts - so here it is:

Register your interest and I'll update the thread when I return on the weekend with my findings.

Cheers,

Pete

Usual deal - we'll be eating there, then swallowing lagers and bragging about what great bike riders we are.

Hope you can make it and we'll see you there.

Cheers,

Ok, on tenth April I was on my way back from an Adelaide / Brisbane halfway run, (see calendar in top line and find 2-6thApril entry) , report coming soon,
aah, but when can I next get out for a drink and dinner with you guys at the Avoca?
That halfway ride between SA/Vic/NSW at the MUNGO lakes sounds good, it's in my calendar, no more to say.

OK! ..... It's time again ....

So as to make sure there's enough talking about the riding that you have been doing lately, we're up for it again:

The Avoca Hotel
South Road

Thursday 8th May
7pm onwards

As usual - myself and others will most likely eat as well as drink

Hope to see you there guys!

Avoca Beer Night Thursday 8th May! ....

Guys, I guess it comes with not having a regular job. I generally have no idea what day or date it is ...

Anyway, a couple of posts back I proposed a few beers and chin-wagging at the Avoca on the 1st May (tonight ), but in actual fact we will also be doing the same as follows:

Avoca Hotel
South Road
7pm 8th May

So, I guess I'll see anyone who shows up tonight (1st - as I originally posted) ...

... If not, then I hope you can make it next week on the 8th. Maybe I'll see you both nights? Damn, I'm always up for a nosh and few while talking it up about
so I'll be there anyway.

Cheers,

Pete

(PS I've edited the previous post too now to reflect the 8th, so it's not you that's losing your mind now - It's ME!)
