Move my bike

Colleagues, does anyone know of someone heading to Darwin with a bit of room on the trailer for a bike, (DR650) and room in their wallet for a few hundred dollars.?
Ive tried the usual bike transport mobs, but they want an arm and a leg to move it.

I dont have enough time off to be able ride it up either.

Any thoughts guys ?

Appreciate it.

Ha ha Mike. Just back after calling in to watch the game after a couple of days at Middleton. Three points - sh*t!

No, Pooncarie is out for me as I want to make sure I've got this bike under control before I go mad on it and have some other commitments. Still not reg as Service SA gave me bad info re rego so now I have to get it ID inspected at Regency. Will fix that Wed.

Just in the process of drinking to excess.

PS. Trail bikes have been used by SAPOL for many years, for every reason you can think of. DRZ250's are the weapon of choice.

Talking of the police, I ran (literally) foul of the law this morning.

I was out jogging with my running partner as we have done for the last 12 or 14 years. We run at 6am and due to the poor state of repair of most of the footpaths here we run on the edge of the road. We run to the far right into oncoming traffic so we can see them and they can see us. Over the years we've been passed by dozens of police cars and on the odd occasion they have pulled up and asked us if we've seen people they have been chasing.

But this morning some snot nosed, fresh out of the academy kid goes passed us, does a u turn and reads us the right act about how we are not allowed to run on the road, blah, blah, blah.

My reaction was "what ever mate, why don't you go and do some real police work and catch the ferals that are smashing up the town as we speak" that didn't go down to well.

I know we probably shouldn't be on the road but FFS no wonder people are losing respect for the police force, its 6am in a country town, we're lucky to see a car all morning. Go and catch some real crooks.

Rant over!

Good call.

Just saw a suspicious character hanging around in the main street of Gawler near the banks, talking on a mobile phone. Didn't see too many open gates around at the time......

How's my luck? Rang Bernie to chew the fat after his Bathurst weekend and he's bought a truck from Vic and is off to Regency this afternoon to have it ID inspected. Now it's gonna do the trip with a Tenere in the back and we're heading off shortly. Should be registered this afternoon....

Funeral for a Friend

I went to a funeral today for a good friend & riding buddy of mine.

Shannon Summerton.

We were members of ATUJARA MCC in the late '70's & 80's.
We did ADV riding thing before it had a name, Flinders every june long w/end on TT500's with ATUJARA club.
He road raced & had sidecars in the 24 amongst other things.

He was a Copper at one stage until he and his Wife Vicky moved to the Barossa 25 years ago.

I offer this information just in case some of you knew him.

An influence on me & mad keen motorcyclist.

RIP Shan.
