I will be on my R1200GSA and the other is a XT660Z Tenere, I will also be highly visible with my adventure gear on (light greyish)

No worries I'll keep an eye out. Weather's looking good. Cool but dry. Can't wait to get back up there.

Cheers PF, just building up some brownie points by cutting some things back and carting cuttings/branches away...why, what were you thinking?

Fitting a new Dunlop 908RR to the front of the Tenere Monday so I might slip out for a quick spin around the Barossa to check it out. Going away next weekend for a camping/enduro trip with the 400...can't wait.

I'm pretty sure Mr PBee mentioned something about a 400 ride in the near future, for he has one, and so does I.

I'm expecting an onslaught of BMW's + sidecars after this weekends Farina Rally, shall be stocking the charcoal for the BBQ no doubt.
But I shall not worry about glasses for the wine.

Question postie sparks

No sound system yet

I bought an 1989 postie to my partner and it seemed good at the purchase, but in a couple of days after it went dead.

Some investigating later it seems like it has a totally bodged up electrical sytem with components from both the 12V and 6V models and I don`t know which parts has to be kept and which ones needs to be gone.

Yea the price should tipped me off... or the seller who are going to leave the country soon never to come back...never again gonna buy a bike getting to enthusiastic about it

I wouldn't worry too much, posties are indestructible.

Try this:

How much was it I paid $1500 for mine, was a 2006 I think and all I did was replace the chain and sprockets! Then sold it a few months later once I got bored for $1550 :p

Anyway Postie bikes are fantastic for projects or just thrashing, i don't think you can regret anything about them :p well except for the lack of power ;)

Maybe we'll get you guys up to this property sometime. A few thousand acres of hills and trails.....plus firepit and accommodation. All positions are filled this time around ......but it's available 24/7/52 so there will be opportunities.

postie electrics

Paid 550$ no regrets so far :-D

Got the wiring diagram, but the problem is that a grey plastic box won`t tell me if its a 6V part or a 12V one... eg. ignition coil reg.rec relays etc. or maybe I`m better off just buying a new wiring loom?

How much could it be?

Firstly pull the headlight/taillight globe out & see what voltage is marked on it.

I believe they were 6v until 1997.
