Option B is to get to Gawler as mentioned then up through Tarlee, Rhynie, Auburn, Clare, Gulnare, Gladstone, Wirrabara to Wilmington then take Horrocks Pass to hwy 1 just south of PA. Slower trip but fewer trucks and not as batshit boring. The Hwy 1 motel at PA has cheapish rooms if you want a roof over your head.

Anyone have there tires balanced and if so where did you get it done and how much? Want to get rid of the slap from the rim lock on the roads.

With rim locks I use screw on spoke weights.

Richard, their tyre guru, talked me into a Dunlip 908 RR on the front of the Tenere and it's bloody magnificent. So far it's had some mud and plenty of dirt/gravel to contend with and has been faultless. They balanced it too and I'm not sure they charged very much for that. I know that they don't charge for fitting whereas one of my local shops was talking about 'anything up to $50 to fit a tyre'. I can do it myself if necessary, but these guys have been great.

OK....looks like there will be some showers tomorrow but they're suggesting it happens before dawn and some further showers developing in the evening.
This gives us an opportunity to head out.
Nice casual ride through Meadows and heading south.....may or may not get to Deep Creek but that's OK.
Purpose is more for an exploratory run.

Yep agree the guys there are great to deal with and the pricing is great, going to try a michelin ac10 on the back after running a carlsbad since buying the bike. on fronts a ac12 so see if they suit my casual style of riding, also got front and back balanced, Now to get out and try them out some time this week.
