Very happy with the decibel reduction.
Haven't had a chance to take it for a spin yet but warming it up on the stand and giving it a rev didn't produce any backfires.
Staintune without the insert was just too loud and with the insert wasn't that much quieter....just moved the pitch up a bit.
Might offload it.
Is the std pipe baffled Con? you might lose performance if it is. After I fitted the Leo Vince pipes on my 950 it made a hell of a difference. The thing just wants to rev to 9500 where as before it was struggling to get there. Wait till you have another ride mate, its a different bike. Had the baffles out, took me awhile they were jammed in there and made a bit of a mess of them, but put them back in, it was just toooo loud without them..

Hey guys, have you seen the weather forecasts for the Flinders?? Up to 25 next week and hopefully will stay around there for a few weeks so we can enjoy great day time temps in the middle of Sept.

Am really looking forward to this and have thought that I might leave the 400 at home and just paddle the Tenere around the PAR's etc.

Coming Gatey? We can talk about the amalgamation of St Andrew, St George and St Patrick??

where will we find the time to talk about the UK flag, there's other things like tire pressures and airhawk seats to talk about, first

G'day Con, did you fit a standard KTM 640 muffler or a KTM 625SXC Comp muffler ?

The standard 640 muffler is quite restrictive, however the 625SXC muffler is far more free flowing (reasonably quiet with the baffle in) & much lighter vs 640.

Std 640 ADV Muffler.
Haven't thrown a leg over the bike yet Dave.....might give it a short burst this weekend and cut some single in the Glenelg area
From past experience, changes in performance after modifications are more noticeable when you revert back to a standard set up.
It will be interesting to see if there is a significant performance loss.
I kind of like the sound it makes now anyway.
I have a near new 525 SX can in the shed as a reserve which might get a look in if the std one is no good.
As for weight......well....I'm pushing over 125 myself so the extra 4 or 5 from the standard can is insignificant.
Not like I will be abusing the 640 and doing the hard stuff....cough...cough

Roll on Sep 1st.
